New Community Group
I need around 10 people to make a solid team. I'm looking for people who are familiar with using hammer to help in the creation of maps. I am also looking for people who understand the game play mechanics of Portal 2 quite well to help come up with some interesting puzzle ideas and to play test the maps before publishing. All maps will published here on ThinkingwithPortals and also on myApertureLabs.
Anyone can join but I would prefer if they were from the UK to avoid any issues caused by members being in different time zones. Also it is recommended that you have a microphone but its not completely necessary. If this group goes ahead we will mostly be using xfire for group chats so if your interested in joining please add me on xfire "mazk19852" or my friend "darrenm94".
I hope to hear from you portal lovers soon

Hello everyone my name is MazK. I'm a well experienced Portal map designer
I do not mean to be rude but, how the heck can we tell that you are experienced?

Gotta agree, I have never heard of you, and unless you post some examples of your works, random people on a forum aren't going to dedicate their time to join a mapping group.
I might be interested but I live in a totally different time zone and although I think I could contribute, I'm not Valve's standards
Here's a link to my map PMK 6
&
I might join, I liked PMK5 a lot. Same deal as chikenmobile; I live in a totally different time zone...
Also, I'm just good at making maps...I mapped for Portal a lot and my first portal 2 map is Eco_Leaf.
It has a fail bug at the last room, (indicator lights) but its still playable and I have a patch ready.

I gotta say, Space is a very different timezone.
I'm sorry for the confusion guys but I felt like keeping my work seperate from this group but now I realise I should've posted using my mazk1985 account. If the group works out then I'll switch over to a group account for posting comments and publishing but for now I'll use my account to avoid confusion or suspicion.
Anyway like I said before the aim of the group is to create "Valve" quality maps but also it's to get a tight group where playtesting, ideas and map creation can be easily exchanged and collaborated on.
The ultimate goal however is to create a series of co-op chambers with their own hub, pacing and style. (style to a certain degree anyway)
While working on a co-op map with a friend of mine he came up with the idea of starting this group. He is a very experienced Portal player who is currently helping me design a co-op map. If the group goes ahead then he will handling the organisation of the members and of the website. I'm gonna be moving house over the weekend so please contact him on "darrenm94" using xfire if your interested in joining.
Sorry for all the confusion, hope to hear from you guys soon

You guys of the A-Team could look after an hypothetical amalgamation of the better COOPs in the competition\releases. The unwashed masses could use some incentive for their waning interest in the gamemode!
It could be an interesting idea if we were really stuck with fleshing out a full coop experience but ideally we want to create new content.

Now that I know who is who, I'd be interested. I could pitch in effect Ideas as well, depending on what the goal of the design. Message me If you can.
Were using Steam or xfire for the moment to get people familier with each other and discuss ideas so if you would like to join us then please add us on Steam (Me: mazk1985 or Darren: darrenm94) or xfire (Me: mazk19852 or Darren: darrenm94). I'm online most nights 11pm to 4am GMT and sometimes during the afternoon and Darren is online most nights I believe.

Im in if you want me. I sent you a PM.
I tried to send you a PM just now bt kept getting an error saying you don't exist which is dodgy. Anyway the message I was trying to send is this:
Hi.
Sorry for the slow reply. I've been trying to work out the best way to get this group idea to work and inbetween that I've been moving house. I'm getting together a few people (hopefully) on xfire or steam tonite to go through exactly what this project is about. Add me on steam "mazk1985" or on xfire "mazk19852" and i'll be online at around 12 midnight GMT.
Hopefully speak to you soon
