Hey folks, I have noticed that Hammer has an icon with Maya symbol on it. When I press it, it says I need a plugin installed. Where can I find the plugin?

I found this page on VDC but it deals with Source SDK and not Hammer. I think the import/export formats are different in hammer.

I don't think this is available to us, I'm pretty sure it's something left over from Valve's use. Just use Hammer like normal and you'll be good.

In that case, how do I make circular brushes?

Spherical or Cylindrical? Because if you want a cylindrical brush I believe it's one of the primitives. As well as the sphere.

But if you do make a cylindrical or spherical brush and it's not being used as anything (func_door, trigger, etc.) tie it to a func_detail.

You don't make circular brushes. You can use the cylinder tool as described, but generally you don't want the faces to go higher than 10 or 12 in most cases.

Here is the Primitive article on the VDC; in short they are basic brush types.

Are you new to mapping with Hammer or the Source SDK? If so then read this.
