Sorry to disappoint...but custom maps are only available to play for those with Steam on a PC or Mac.

He's right.

There is a reason why PC gaming is alive and well, and it will never disappear.

Creation of custom contents from community like this cannot happen on consoles games.

There are shitty editors for console games, but nothing as power as Hammer can exist for the consoles.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but Portal 2 was created on a computer using hammer (wasn't it?), so there must be a way to transfer custom maps to the PS3.

No. Playstation network is exactly that, a (closed) network. You cannot install custom maps onto a PS3, you cannot distribute them, you wouldnt even be able to acces them ingame...

It would only be possible when both Valve AND Sony would allow/want this and facilitate it.

Only PS3 exclusive titles are "best" on the PS3.

Gotta love how every time somebody quotes Gabe on that, they conveniently omit the part where he says it will be "the best CONSOLE version." He's never once said it would be better than the PC version.

Gabe had to say that for public relations reasons.

After what he said about PS3 previously, he had to mend fences.

I remember that. I think I remember him saying something about thanking Sony for not repeatedly punch him or something around those lines.

Why WHOULD valve AND sony NOT WANT THIS?. If it is possible and not too complicated, and also, how whould this negatively afect either of valve or sony, exept if valve wants too keep this on pc for steam. I am shour (with permition, of cource) that I can program this. so whats the fuss, why not.

I know, right? I mean, it's not like allowing custom maps on PS3 would cause the PSN to get HACKED or something!

wait...

I am not shour Valve would give you permition to program anything with the intelligence of a 5 year old.

Because a couple of small spelling errors are completely indicative of one's entire mental capabilities. Maybe he's writing on a phone? Even if he isn't, have you ever heard that thing about the covers of books?

ok permition is understand because it is only a couple of letters away from permission, but 'shour'? Seriously? if you making those kinds of mistakes, programming might be a bit out of your league.

This may be someone whose first language is not English.

I did not understand any English until I was fourteen. Does that make me stupid?

I mastered the English language in two years after coming to America, and I taught myself algebra with the help of a textbook that I could not read.
