Flu vaccines are widely available in most parts of the Northern Hemisphere. The strains selected for this season's vaccine are based on the epidemiology of flu activity in the Southern Hemisphere.

Well, not necessarily bad.
It's just like saying you've never used a seat belt before and never worn a helmet while skateboarding. It's not bad. You've been lucky.
It's entirely possible that you'll never catch the flu and never get into a car accident.
It's a matter of taking risks.

A Flu Vaccine is not life or death though. Even if you catch the flu its just like a horrible cold which makes you achey for a week or so. Unless you like 80 you should worry too much if you dont want one just dont complain when your bed ridden.

I think I've had the flu before and I recovered pretty quickly. But I would certainly want my child to have the vaccine(if I had any at this stage in time (which I don't)). I don't see a reason not to get a shot.

I did all classic vaccines of old, but I never take the anti-flu shot.

Being born prematurely I had to have a TB jab, but everybody my age had to have them while teenagers and I didn't. Satchmo, is it worth having another BCG jab or will I be protected for life? (I hate needles)

I am not familiar with the BCG vaccine because it is not done in the United States.
The BCG vaccine is only effective in preventing mycobacterial meningitis and systemic tuberculosis anyway. It does not work well to prevent pulmonary TB. That's why it's not done in the US.

I don't remember ever getting a flu needle. I only ever get sick about 2 days a year though.
