The update for the Authoring tools has added a few more things to it; and weapon_paintgun is one of them. I haven't tested with it yet, but will post the results.

I think they had plans of making a paint gun while developing Portal 2 but abandoned it because two guns would be too much. Not sure why they would bring it back. Might just be some non-functional leftover entity.

Paintgun doesn't appear in the map, so I guess it's non-functional. Dang it.

There is also a new "Sticky" gel, that got named in the SDK too. Im not too sure if that will work, but worth looking.

Sticky gel is old. They just didn't remove it fully from the game/SDK but it's non functional.

I've seen a script for that previously. Wouldn't have a clue where they used/will use it though.

Yeah, I took a look at it also. Looks like you score points for picking it up. Still haven't tested it yet, but if it works, this could be used for a new competition in Co-op. Also, I think that there would be something to add to maps for Challenge Mode to work.

You can have a prop_scaled_cube in hammer by editing the fgd script. They also have a prop_scalable

Nvm: Sixense has their own fgd

Also this guy made a paint gun without mods or scripts, just hotkeys

Interesting video.
If anyone finds anything else new in Hammer that is not covered in the Developer's Wiki, post it here.

Doesn't motanum's gel levels use the paintgun?
@Spongy; yea, got all gels bound too, that technique has been known for months

Finally there's also the reflecto gel; but it horrible as a test element and valve wasn't really happy when they found out we knew  since they intended it to be removed because it wasn't a good idea.

Mot's levels use a hacked-together paintgun that involves a func_tank that follows the player and a paint sprayer entity.

Wow, looks like this thread is back from the dead. I thought I would bring it back after the new DLC came out since new instances were going to be added, but someone beat me to it (bring the thread back I mean).
