I need to buy a gaming mouse and have come down to two options:Logitech MX 518 and Razer DeathAdder after searching the internet. I am right-handed and have a claw grip(for those who don't know about grip types:http://www.razerzone.com/mouseguide/ergonomic) and medium sized hands. So which is the best?

I would think the best mouse would be one that's not broken. Okay, I'll be serious now: I have a claw grip and use a mouse that uses a laser light on the bottom part instead of a sphere to move the pointer. Could you post pictures of the mouses' (mice?) you're interested in? A visual may help.

Honestly you are choosing between two very good mouses but my preference would not go past logitech. That one looks a bit like the G7 (which I have previously owned), and its friggin' awesome!

Here are some links for images
MX 518:http://www.logitech.com/en-roeu/mice-pointers/mice/devices/4259
DeathAdder:http://store.razerzone.com/store/razerusa/en_US/pd/productID.169416100/categoryId.35208800

@chickenmobile
The problem with mx 518 is a palm grip mouse.
would it be comfortable for me?

i bought the cheapest logictech 1000dpi mouse i could find. i think it was around $9 on newegg.. it has 2 regular buttons. a scroll and a "scroll-click" (ie: middle mouse button). It's all you "need" and most importantly it's cheap and does the job. start adding a bunch of shit beyond that and you're paying for features you will very likely never use. if you're playing on the pc anyway (obviously) then you can just macro everything else you need with the keyboard and/or buy a gaming keyboard. I think "gaming mice" are rather pointless for the most part.

What are the odds that I think the opposite to you and think that gaming keyboards are completely useless?

I saw a wireless Microsoft mouse that was completely flat but could be snapped into a curved position for use. There's a spot of drool on the Best Buy floor in front of it now.

Anyway, I use a Logitech VX Nano, mainly because I do everything off my laptop. It's a fast mouse, has everything I need (two buttons, back/forward buttons, a window flip button I never even use, and a scroll wheel that a. can go sideways as well and b. can be "unlatched" to spin freely and fast), and cripes is that receiver small.

well... to be fair. i consider gaming keyboards to be mostly useless too (i have a $12 wired logitech keyboard... it has 12 F keys.... they are at the top). but i could see them being more useful than a gaming mouse.

Macro-ing Hammer shortcuts is a very good reason to get a gaming mouse! (Be cool like me)

I have a DeathAdder, it's pretty rad. I'm not a fan of 100 button mice though.

I have a logitech keyboard with the heaps of G keys, which I have a hammer profile assigned to so all the complex keyboard shortcuts are just on key press. Also comes in handy with 3dsmax and photoshop.

I think you have never played counter strike and if you did play it then I think you never knew who killed you.

Counter Strike is the best MP game and every regular gamer should have played it by now.

Hmm... nobody's made a good suggestion yet.
And why are we talking about keyboards now.

How about flipping a coin? Heads you get one, tails you get the other one.

Bought the mx 518
Deathadder is heavy, added cost for ambient lighting and gold plated USB, 3500DPI that I ain't gonna use and 5 buttons(2 of which can get clicked unintentionally).
mx 518 is lighter, has 8 usable buttons.
The only problem is that mx 518 seriously requires palm grip. But if you have palm grip it perfectly fits your hand.
Will take me a while to adjust to palm grip.

The only thing I can say right now is that I used mx 518 for a whole day at home. The other day I went to office and tried to place the cursor on the login field with the normal Dell mouse, I felt that the mouse wasn't working.
