Haven't read thread.

I remember reading some interview with someone at Valve a while ago about a Half-Life movie, and they have listened to directors and screen writers, but they always kick them out of the office as soon as they hear "And then Gordon falls in love with..."

When or even if it ever happens, I have no doubt that Valve will be integral in the movie's development, and they won't be out to just make a quick buck.

Well if Gordon falls in love his Alyx i would say... HELL YEAH!
If it was "And then Gordon falls in love with Dr. Kleiner" then i would crack up laughing then hate valve for the rest of my life.

Well done. You just prompted the creation of dozens of slash stories and /34/ pictures featuring Gordon and Kleiner. I hope you're proud of yourself.

I think they could make an animated movie. It would look very similar to the game, and they could keep the original voices. They could even keep the tradition and leave Gordon as a mute. It would be like playing the game anyway since the storyline never has choices or splits anyway.

This might be a better alternative for keeping the plot and making things exactly how they want them. Even if it turned out bad, I know we would all go watch it, and they'd make a lot of money, and maybe come out with new games faster.

To me it comes down to: what better story could they tell with a movie than video game.

If there's something the recent Buffy The Vampire Slayer Season 8 comic series has taught me, it's that its all about using your medium to do the best you can. The style of story in the HL games would be unrecognizable translated to the big screen, in my opinion.

Also, in reference to the horrific pairings mentioned above: http://xkcd.com/305/
