From what I can remember, you have to upload a lot (or at least something REALLY great) of stuff to the website and msleeper has to decide whether the person deserves it or not.

Ah no it's not just a lot of stuff. Someone has to show at least adequate skill at mapping or does something to improve the community on another level. The decision to add new Community Contributors is usually a joint decision between one or more of the moderators, Sleeper, or the existing Contributors.

Basically there's 3 ways to get it. Make a map that gets spotlighted, release something that is exceptional in terms of quality, or be involved and helpful here on the forums. Even more generally speaking - do something to make yourself stand out, and you'll get that purple.

I guess having a "consistently shitty attitude" doesn't fall under the category of doing something to make myself "stand out." 
I actually prefer to be a Logical Paradox. It has a strangeness quality to it that fits me.
