It's looking quite ok but I would make the corridor only 128 units wide and high. That gives a really crammed feeling; which is often the case in ships. Also I would recommend using metal textures; possibly with nails as round dots on the bottom and/or top instead of a concrete texture. Ever seen a concrete ship?

Not looking too bad, couple of things though, the corridor in the first picture and the rooms in general look a bit large, they should be smaller, the corridor in particular should only be about half as wide. Remeber, on a ship space is a commodity. Also, mabe some pipes and things on the walls, the ship is an icebreaker, so its designed for functionality, it wouldnt look very polished on the inside. And lastly, change the concrete textures in the last photo, ships generally dont have concrete walls. Id go for some sort of metal or something.
But its looking alright, theres definetly promise.
P.S. if you want to put the pics on the thread you could always resize them.

EDIT: haha you're too quick lpfreaky

It is a metal texture, I used the same texture in the 'containers' in Portal 2. Also, the pictures are NOT finished. I just took a picture of what I have so far, cuz you guys asked for it:)
I actually think I will have the corridor as it is. Yeah, and by the way in the wiki about Borealis it said that Aperture had an 'secret' project not quite known what though... But I thought I could use story in my map, but im not quite sure yet.

well this is what I think the interior of a ship looks like:
img

The texture you used might be a metal one but it doesn't really look metal-y. It just looks like dirty concrete judging by these pictures. I would go for a more grey-like, somewhat shiny metal. Probably you will need a custom texture for that. But that's just my 2 cents.

@Spam Nugget; I know right, wings are so extremely useful!

I just added an overlay, looks more like rusty metal now!:)
Yeah, the picture is just what I do now for bedrooms. But the corridor I have is an office and working corridor.

And I found a great way of adding puzzles to the map, like the ship has 2-3 test-chambers inside the ship (in the 70's style) which are there for beeing transported to somewhere (?)

I could upload a short movie about what I have so far? So you can se the textures and the ways to get through it, I only have 1-2 minutes of gameplay but whatever.
What do you think?

For what it's worth, there was a partially built Borealis from the 2003 leak. I can't remember the last time I looked at those files, I remember it was in really shitty condition, nowhere near a complete map in terms of gameplay or art. Plus lots has changed in terms of story and functionality for the ship since then. But if you're interested, I'm sure you could hunt down the old leak somewhere and grab the VMFs for it.

Your images look okay but it's quite empty and I think you should use real lights.
That means lights with models that just look realistic. Good luck on mapping!

Yeah, I know. Like I said I aint finished yet, but in the machine room... I dont have any clues what's in a machine room, what do you think I can fill it with to make it more... filling.

You don't really have to make the rooms more filling... Just make them smaller, better organized for a ship with an engine room. I believe someone already mentioned space is a luxury on a ship, and this is a good example. Just look into actual ship layouts, Borealis blueprints (on the wiki (I believe, a link has been sent). That and real lighting, as lp said. Add some texture variation an voil?!

You mentioned you kinda' wanted to use this map for practise in mapping. What better way to do this than to look into new ways for you to design?

I still think its too big. And theres nothing really to show its a ship, if you know what i mean. You dont look at it nd go 'oh, a ship'. Also it needs real lighting. Myabe try looking at some pictures of the insides of ships?

Yes, I think CamBen is right. There should be that kind of hints. The details make it really alive and real:
