[SP] Marginal Error

INTRODUCING: The Material Detection Grill! It converts mass into energy to power stuff. In other words, throwing boxes into it opens doors. For only about 3 seconds, though. Wood boxes don't pack a whole lot of energy.

Marginal Error is a map of moderate difficulty that uses the Material Detection Grill as it's main concept. Featuring a whole 2 rooms, it teaches the concepts and them puts them into practice.

Thanks to FourthReaper, whose textures I modified.

Found a way to break the chamber on my first run...

The video does not showcase my first playthrough, but this is the way I did it.

Nice little map! It was fun trying to solve it and convince my brain 'this is okay!' when deliberately fizzling stuff or walking through fizzlers! The second puzzle was quite easily recognizable, but it's a pretty fun variation, and took some extra thinking. Fun puzzles, looks good, really enjoyed it, ty

Hello,
when I start the map, it starts without the portal gun. Is this supposed to happen? So I'm unable to continue the gameplay any further.

Nope, you'll need one and I started with one. I don't know how to fix it for you though, sorry.

I didn't complete it yet but came here to say: Y U NO ADD AUTOSAVES?!

I didn't quicksave in order not to lose my progress on grayarea's Ignition. When I died in chamber two, the map started all over. An autosave at least in the beginning of a chamber and even better once the player reaches a certain progress would be great.

The fizzler idea itself is nice. Back to testing.

The only thing I could suggest is that you set the cheats value to 1, and type in the code for giving portal gun. You could also check file integrity.

Fun map.Like was already said it took a bit to get around the fact that you need to fizzle cubes.

Updated! I have (hopefully) fixed the two ninja solutions, and added autosaves.

I'm certainly a fan of the underground style, and this map didn't disappoint! The second 'outdoor' area in particular looked brilliant. Once I realised that the new fizzlers didn't actually fizzle portals the first puzzle was quickly solved. The second part had me stuck. I thought that I had to do some kind of speed run, putting the cube into the fizzler manually. Once I'd found the blue gel (I had to crouch jump to do that btw) the solution again came pretty much instantly.

An autosave would have been nice to have - I died in the second area and had to start from scratch. A nice concept, though, and I'd love to see more of this element. Thanks for mapping.
