Mapping Contest
As soon as we have new information we'll let you know!

Hmm, wonder if I should hold onto my map until the contest, then...
Holding a map for a contest is really unfair for others in the competition, seeing as you might have had months to complete a map while others might have only had the time-frame since the competition was announced to make it.
This is why I think map competitions should be based some sort of theme so then no-one can cheat.
Honestly a competition to make a coop map based around some theme would be grand. Once of the editor comes out, there won't be any coop maps made with it (because it cannot make any coop maps).

I totally agree with this. Make a competition with something very specific as a goal, so that people just can't take one of their old file and modify it
I'm not yet really sure about theme, and I don't know about coop.
Problem with theme:
Some people are really inexperienced, or don't like a certain theme, where others are experienced and love to map in that particular style.
Problem with coop:
The workshop does not allow coop maps at the moment, so it will be impossible to upload those maps to the workshop.

Yea, you're not supposed to hold maps back for the mapping competition.

I'm pretty inexperienced, but I'm willing to put my dignity on the line and try out something different x)
Don't do coop. I cant compete at all then since I've never mapped coop before xD But besides that I think single player is easier to judge. Isn't it?

I think mAL held a contest that, along with basic grading for detail and puzzle quality, gave points for meeting different criteria. For example, making an outdoors section would net you up to 20 points, depending on how well it was implemented.
Now that idea I like!
We could come up with a a ton of vague things that we had to work around to get points. Of course that shouldn't be the only criteria, but I like the idea of a check-list of things to do
single player.
judged on difficulty,
asthetics or visual appeal,
originality,
can have custom content.
has to be new and created within the time of the contest.
and some sort of prize for the winner.

1) Sold Out
2) No one willing to donate one
3) Maybe something that is more like a gift card or a preorder of game of choice or something.
