Something simple I did. Based on an ancient idea I had that turned out to be too bloody difficult to execute in Hammer.

Not exactly super-hard, but hopefully enjoyable for what it is...

Destitute Flights.
A map involving flings, a moving laser platform and an Excursion Funnel (not necessarily in that order however)

Here's one involving flings and re-use of testing elements. I started this with literally no idea what I wanted to do, and I like what I ended up with.

I must say, this new editor is amazing. It's infinitely easier to crank out functioning puzzles than it ever was with Hammer. My favorite part has to be the ability to see and adjust the exact trajectory a faith plate will launch things at.

I got home and got straight on my computer to create a test chamber and I'm really surprised at how smoothly the editor runs.

Here is my map titled "The Faster You Go":

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f ... d=68514358

It's pretty simple but even still it's great to actually have an idea click in my head. So please enjoy my first map with this editor.

Also the Gels got a new model! I hadn't realized until I used it in the editor and It's a really cool model for them.

Penassa's Auto Cognitive Test Series (P.A.C.T.S)
This series of 4 test chambers provides test subjects with stimulating, yet non-aggravating, Brain stimulus; test subjects will be versed in the basic skills to progress them to more advanced potentially non-lethal test chambers. This chamber is also ventilated and lighted for safety and comfort.

I had this map for a long time in my mind, now with the easy to use editor I made it. It is short but quite hard. Give it a try:

Thanks!

Odysseus
Some laser puzzles, mixed with flinging and the such. Easy-moderate difficulty.

It's not going to be too difficult for the TWP community I think, but it's hopefully going to be enjoyable.

It was fun, i would make the floor under the filzzlers portal proof though, I grabbed the cube, bumped the first flizzler, put it on the button, bumped the second, tunnel'd/reportal'd (uses the same glitch to diffrent effect btw) to the cube on the button, and finished the rest. You might just call this an unintended solution.

I think two boards would work better instead of this thread to be honest. Like this:

  1. Community Maps
  2. Perpetual Testing Initiative

That's just me thinking about better execution.

Anyways, my first map:

Competurn

Play it:

Please play it and let me know what you think!
That's my first test chamber designed in PeTI.

Timing is your friend. Turrets = boring. Not Franken Turret. He may seem a bit disoriented but, in the end, it will die.

Isn't amazing how gigantic the Multiverse is? How sad it is to jump from one Test Chamber to another and NEVER see any sign of friendship?
That's why "Competurn" came to life. To satisfy the needs claimed by the yelling of 230598 testing subjects like you, from dozens of different Earths. Stop crying of sadness and start to cry of happiness!
Don't let the lemons hit your eye. It will burn. And make you cry, again.

I hope this one isn't too confusing. It only takes about a minute to run through if you know what you're doing.

It's called **Sim-pathy**

So many test chambers! There is no way I'll ever be able to play them all. On a completely unrelated subject to the abundance of tests. I released my second test chamber moments ago!

A Speedy Solution:

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f ... d=68545308

For the third one though I'm going to run it through Hammer for some detailing. I also want it to be a test chamber where the player only has one Portal available to them.

I'm just about finished with my first map. Without numeric indicators as to what is supposed to be done first, I'm afraid it'll be impossible for anybody else to complete... Also, it's not very portal heavy. There's one puzzle (a long complicated one) and after that, it's all walking and pushing buttons and carrying spheres, then the big payoff. OMG I was happy about that bit. I'll post a link when I get the final (second) room complete.

Oh my lord, I just looked at the main puzzle... INDICATOR LIGHTS ALL OVER THE PLACE. It's terrible looking... But... testing is just that, testing.

Well, here it is... Small test, Big leap...

Here's my third effort with the new editor. Takes a few minutes to compile on my machine, which is saying something; most P2 maps take under a minute for me. It is pretty darn big space-wise compared to other stuff I've tried.

I've incorporated all 3 types of gel, and I think I managed to (hopefully) avoid the ever-present exploitability issue with the conversion stuff. It doesn't get used for much here, but it does have its purpose.

Here's mine, Tractor Retract: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f ... d=68692589

First map made in the editor. I have to say though, the indicator strips that are all over the place are quite ugly.
