So I just want to remove the portal gun from the screen for a screen shot real quick, I was in the console and tried the hidehud command but it didn't seem to do anything. I'm sure this is quite easy, can someone tell me the command for it. Thanks!

Here's another tip.
In console type:

bindtoggle <KeyOfYourChoice> r_drawviewmodel
and
bindtoggle <KeyOfYourChoice> crosshair

That way you can easily switch anytime you want to take a screenshot

I use:

impulse 200
cl_drawhud 0

Works just as well I guess
