Source SDK Improvements
Posted Dec 10, 2007
Ok, i havn't been paying much attention, but i just found out that the VGUI model browser no longer crashes hammer; for me at least.
The shading view doesn't work yet and the episode 2 settings doesn't crash at all for me, in fact the old settings crash when i try to delete certain things lol.

SDK update was last month some time, with a few small fixes since then.

I knew there were a few small updates and that, didn't think they really fixed anything though.

Yeah I know that Mike Durand is the only guy doing SDK work, but I honestly have to ask if he even uses Hammer. When the SDK update came out and there were such HUGE errors, it's like he never bothered to try out half of the day-to-day features like the model browser's 3D preview.

No he did, but the poor guy is using their own config of Hammer, which is the full sdk base thats why. So he had to chop up the base code and make it backwards for now.
The funny thing is Valve wasn't even going to release the Orange Box tools, just the full sdk base update. I mean what we have now for Portal Tf2, and Ep2 was going to come out in the future, but people kept complaining with all the work arounds and what, so thats why Mike took it upon his-self to release all this.
