[PTI] Feel the Heartbeat
Update 8 - fixed more unintended solutions and a way to get stuck for ninja-fast players. Thanks to Mumbles for the find.
I tidied up the mess of symbols and indicator lights and prevented unintended solutions by using Hammer for a final polish. If you played the map before, please test this version and drop me a line of feedback.
Many thanks to:
El Farmerino for pointing out unintended solutions and guiding me on my first steps with Hammer. Check out his workshop: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/7656 ... shopfiles/
Lpfreaky90 for implementing the final fix for the laser puzzle and answering 38409284032 Hammer questions. If you haven't played her maps, do it right now: http://steamcommunity.com/id/lpfreaky90 ... ?appid=620
Vordwann for pointing out how to make the prebuild elevators work again.
The core mechanic of this map is a copy of Moogoo The Mangler's great idea for the map "Heartbeat". Check it out here:?http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=71495919
Finally, thanks to blackjungle308 for his logic gates guide: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=71669200&tscn=1336977336
I could never do a good cube toss, that's why I'd never implement one in a map. =)
If you got the cube the way I had in mind then you actually should have the lightbridge activated.
Yeah, I did it again in a different way and still had the bridge, but I still couldn't get past the panel... It's updating now, but I'll make a quick .dem for you of how I got the cube without the bridge. Not sure you'll be able to do anything about it, though...
EDIT: Haha, worked first time last time I tried, but for some reason was really difficult when I made the demo.... The way I solved the first laser puzzle was nixed in the new version too, so I left my new solution in the demo for you as I'm not sure that's what you're after either:

Thank you very much for the demo. Back to editing.
Because of the in-game logic gates you're using all of the symbols are basically meaningless, making it a little difficult to see what does what in places - it would be great if these could be tidied up to make things clearer. The exploit I used to get the second cube would be easily fixed with an info_placement_helper too, but you can't really place those in the in-game editor. These would both be relatively easy tasks, so if you can't find anyone more qualified to do it then I'd be happy to help.
Other than that it's a very nice map, and thanks for sharing!
Thanks to elfarmerino one major exploit is fixed now as well as more unintended ways to solve the laser room. It currently is possible to get yourself stuck by placing two portals on a single portal-able panel surrounded by non-portable ones. As I understand the puzzle creator, this should not be possible but is a glitch. But thanks to elfarmerino's Hammer-help this should be fixed soon, as well. ![]()
<EDIT>
Just finished this map - this was great fun and I really enjoyed the OR puzzle logic stuff. I'm going to have to look into this. I didn't find the overall puzzle to difficult but just challenging enough after a long day at work! :thumb up:
