When I trying to up-load a map it kept saying Error, and it would not up-load my map any suggestions?

Are you uploading the BSP file itself?

I've just performed a quick test and it is working for me.

Note that .bsp .vpk and more files are blocked from uploading.
.zip .rar and .7z archives are often about 30% of the original file size. So make sure you upload an archive instead of the normal files.

I tried again using a .rar and a .tga for the thumbnail and I still got this message:

General Error
Error while uploading this file. Please go back and retry.
Contact the admin, if this error will still exist.

Am I doing some thing wrong?

probably the tga is a problem, most people use pngs, gifs or jpgs on the internet. Some people use bmp which is worse because of the file size. TGA TIF(F) PSD and other image formats are not usually used and I guess that's the problem.

Besides as far as I know the html <img> tag doesn't support tga files, though I'm not completely sure.

Let's test some file extentions:

tif:
Image doesn't show up it can be downloaded, it gives the broken image icon.

tga:
It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image.
Unsupported.

dib

supported.

psd:
Image doesn't show up it can be downloaded, it gives the broken image icon.

End of story: use normal web formats as jpg, png and gif and you're always fine!
