Having ads on the site wouldn't be the end of the world (or this wonderful site). In fact, it wouldn't bother me at all since I use AdBlock. I would even unblock ads on this site and click on them if it would help out.

I really like the idea of prizes. Maybe we could get Valve or NVidia or some other manufacturers to help out (long shot I know but worth a try). If it comes down to you guys purchasing the prizes yourself let me know, I may be able to get us some good deals through work and I have a contact at a distributor. It might be a clearence item or perhaps an "open box"/ "scratch and dent" type thing but you can really save a lot on those.

Personally, I plan on going to the bank next week (assuming I get a day off) and opening a separate, small credit line, credit card that I will link to a PayPal account so I can donate something cash-wise. It may not be much since funds are tight this time of year but if enough people give just a little, it can add up real fast. Ahh the power of numbers!

This is a great site, and community. I'm surprised & pleased at how fast it's grown. I'm happy to support it.

I'm all for ads, and I'd certainly un-ad-block TWP and click away.

Please do keep them PG though (i.e. not what you'd find on most Torrent sites). I'm planning to spread the word about Portal, TWP, and other map/mod sites to others. No fun pointing friends & family at a site only to have a bunch of pr0n ads pop up.

I've said my piece and since 1.) everyone seems okay with ads, and 2.) I can count the number of people who donated on one hand, I hope nobody is surprised when ads start appearing. The PayPal donation thing will stay for anyone who feels generous, and I'm working on adding some Supporter options. Thanks everyone.

How about maybe something like a TWP Gift Shop? Go get some hats, stickers, t-shirts, and whatever, just don't forget the official TWP beer cozy. You can get those things made pretty cheap. You could also use those as rewards for contests. Of course people always like a special forum avatar too.
