again, it said it was my user avatar, but it never showed up on my posts

and then I tried that picture of GLaDOS from p1 that shows up in the blue box advert things that show up when you arent signed in... apparently it was identified as a possible attack vector.

Then, since all else failed, I uploaded one from my computer. It is what I have it set as now, and again... doesn't show up. WTF, why won't any user avatars show up? How can I fix it?
