Deploying a Wheatley Screen?

I've edited my Wheatley screens to be GLaDOS screens (for the PTI. Thank you very much, large observation room and laser cube), but they won't deploy like they do in game. What animation do I need to play on what to get them to deploy? And how do I stop the leaky looking effect that comes from looking in the area the screen is in?

The screens need to be fitted into the wall in a specific way, so good luck with that in the PTI. Just keep changing the numbers in editoritems.txt until it works right.

Then there are a few proxy inputs called "close", "open_straight", "open_30", and "open_45" IIRC. Those make it go in and come out at different angles. Maybe inheriting from the panel class would let you use those in the PTI?

Personally, I think you're making it much harder on yourself using the PTI to such an extent. Just learn to use Hammer!

The only way to stretch the PTI to this extent is to learn to use Hammer, I'm not changing editoritems.txt, I'm just editing my PTI instances (the pre placed cubes and the mandatory observation room)

I just got it to play animations and everything, but now it won't show anything. I have the Wheatley studio and all I did with it was remove the npc_wheatley_boss and replace it with a prop_dynamic (npcs/glados/glados_animation) and ofc set an animation on GLaDOS

I can use Hammer :sigh:

But think about it, if its something you're going to use in every map, wouldn't it be easier to edit an instance instead of placing a func_instance, finding the file, clicking it, aligning it correctly, making sure it doesn't leak blah blah blah? Just do all that once, and blam. done forever.
