I was thinking. For some reason I prefer the orange portal over the blue one and was wondering what other people think.

Blue, because it's the first one you get to control with the Handheld Portal Device. The freedom afforded by controlling even one portal is astounding, whereas control over the second portal is more a convenience than an experience.

Honestly, I prefer the blue. Mostly because I'm more used to leftclicking, but also because I saw orange as more of the utility portal. A base, if you will.
I remember one portal puzzle on portal_jordash that in order to best it, you have to use a series of opposite portals, changing your portal color appropriately to get the Aperture Science Energy Pellet past three doors and to it's wonderous destination. Not only do I LIKE those puzzles, but they force me to think. 
I got off my point.
Oh right. Again, blue, for the clicking, and I like blue anyway. I did like the commentary in the early double-gapped orange-portal-locked room that forced you to use the orange portal as both an entry and exit portal though; I could really see someone getting confused and thinking that orange portals were only ever exit portals.

I am truely AMAZED by the responces to this, I prefer the blue portal for some reason unknown to me but it seems everyone else does too.

and of course ### blue is the color of blue oyster spiral. "red oyster spiral" would not have worked. nope.
