it's no valve ARG, so chances are bad...

Hmmm... it COULD be a Valve ARG. Looks like some of the maps related to this are PTI maps, but its easy to fake that.

Today's the day, i missed a bunch of stuff (looks like mostly nothing) from the last time i looked at this, is Alexander Bell going? or is he kidding?

DouglasQ i dont want you to have to go out of your way if its that much trouble, its not really THAT important, just a small reward. You can decide weather or not its worth it. the "reward" could be anything from a high five to a.. um.... an in-game hat? or maybe being referenced in some new portal map... Its probably not anything much bigger, but than again idk how willing to give away stuff these people are. (and what they are capable of giving)

Edit: so did you go? Its time right about now isnt it? is waiting impatiently

Although, i dont have access to a pc right now, so yeah....

I'll check this every 5 minutes till probably 8 pacific time, i dont have anyhing to do today... I might do a bit of reading or something...

Hey, just got home a few minutes ago. I got to the parking lot and sure enough there was an envelope there marked with The Shepherd Company logo. Inside was a usb drive containing two things. The first is this zip, which I'm supposed to make public. The other thing... well, I'm not supposed to talk about it, but it's really cool and sort of explains what's going on here. Now, I'm starving so I've got to go get a bite to eat before I can work on this any more.

Awesome that you went!

Oh I feel dumb now. I had tried morse code on the strangely spaced message before, but thought the spaces were also part of the code... I didn't realize to leave them as they are.

If you take the lowercase as . and capitals as - you get the message:

Quote:
IAMALPHAANDOMEGA

edit:continued on my next post

File has 2 ZIPs and 1 txt, instruction.txt.

They're all password protected, I tried IAMALPHAANDOMEGA and Mary.

Not sure what to put in now. :O
EDIT: Here's what it looks like:

"alpha" (first) and "omega" (last) are the other passwords.

where.txt:

Quote:
It ends like it began: The Shepherd Company Presents.

what.mp3: After Reversing and slowing about 80%

Quote:
Steam group

And here is the steam group. There's an event upcoming.

Also, I checked back on the collection page and noticed the first letter of each map spells "Uprose."

good job finding the morse code and solving the end. I just went back to double check, the capitalization on "timing is everything so is location" is the same as in "congratulations on finding the cache decode me" i guess he knew we missed that, and had to put the clue again.

either way, looks like this is pretty much done. good job to all!

also, i cannot seem to open the folders, i tried "alpha" "omega" and neither worked. "mary" was the one for the txt file. its not so important now if you already got it, but still.

Since the folders themselves are in a password protected folder, you should have to re-enter "mary" to open them, and use the new passwords to open what's inside of them.

Ok thanks, got it working now. thought those passwords were for the folder, not for the file itself.

For the people who are curious:
instructions.txt says
"- SOS! The Shepherd Company is almost done with their plans. Soon, their androids will go into production and once that happens they will be unstoppable. Meet me at the final stop on this path and I will explain everything. Time is of the essence. We need to build an army, and we only have a week to do it!

? co nG RA tU lAti oNSo nfin dI nG Th Eca CHE DE c ODe mE"

P.S. I hope the present is milk, because mine expires on the 27th.

EDIT: I can't help but put this into a Portal 3 storyline. GLaDOS builds an army of unstoppable robo-birds who shall rain down terror and chaos.

conGRAtUlAtioNS on findInG ThE caCHE DEcODe mE

I'm guessing that there is a message within the message. I'm pulling my book of ciphers to see if anything matches that.
Edit: Never mind I think someone already solved it a few posts back.

Decoding it to morse code revealed stuff. Password for the other two zips I think.

So what is on the zip files? Or are we to remain quiet about it?

You're a little bit late. we've got everything (we think) and are done now (we think). you just have to join the steam group, and wait for the 27th for our "reward" or whatever it is.

and in case you wanted to get it for yourself, the passwords were "mary" for the txt and the zips, and "alpha" and "omega" for the files in the zips (first and last, respectively)

where.txt was in the first zip, what.mp3 was in the second.
