func_door and Portal Paint

Hi all,

does anybody know if there is a way to have active Portal Paint (grey) on a func_door?
I tried to create some moving plates via func_door and dropped Portal Paint onto those, but the result is not portable. The Paint is ok, if placing a Solid there, the Paint works fine.

I would like not to use a Simple Object having a func_brush attached, because the Simple Object seems to be limited to 128 and has issues with the animation. Furthermore i am currently very close to the max of entities, therefore i need a solution with as less entities as possible.

I hope, that i am only missing a simple configuration.

Hmmm... that is weird. I haven't tried a func_door, but I did try a func_tracktrain, with and without a func_brush parented to it... and in both cases it can be painted (with coversion gel), and the paint stays after it has moved and returned to its original position...

Paint visibility and lighting sometimes are related, would you post your func_door setings and flags?

Hi Josepezdj,

thanks for the offer, but that may not be necessary. I tested all possible options on the func_door without results. The grey conversion gel - dropping, being visible and sticking on it - does not enable to place portals. I had to add a thin layer as func_brush using the func_door as parent. That works fine and i have still the same movements.

Cheers.
