Weird Dream

I just dreamed that I was inside one of my unfinished VMFs and couldn't escape because I hadn't built an exit elevator yet. I was somehow able to pull up the console and use AddOutput, RunScriptCode, and !picker to get things working. I woke up when I fell out a leak by one of the box droppers.

Would you ascribe any significance to this? Now I'm not sure if I should be afraid to compile.

OK. First, "I know you've been doing much hammer when.... you post this" The environment is hammer because you (same as me) spend a really huge time in front of your computer! But the things that happens in your dream are symbolic and they might be telling some stuff about your personality. Those events could have happened in a completely different environment and still have the same meaning...

I think that maybe you are that kind of person that needs to finish the work you started, and maybe you push yourself hard to have the work done before the deadline; deadline that maybe too often has been set by your own, not by others Maybe you are lately under a certain high stress condition at work (or maybe your parents are too demanding or tough with you ).

The leak can be also related to above hypothesis: you feel pushed and you are afraid of making mistakes. But you use to punish yourself hard when you make them. This can also be related to your education.

You should not be afrid to compile! Again, that fear appears because you don't want to fail... but bare this in mind:

Compile is the relief! As soon as you face your leaks, your puzzle will be solved!

josepezdj, you should set up a hammer rehabilitation centre, look at what valve has done to us with this tool, bad enough it makes hours pass when you intended to only spend a few minutes on it, now we need counselling :p

@Felix:

It's kind of a bit weird to me that you haven't posted anymore since you made the topic, and due to the fact I'm a bit paranoic, I'd like to clarify that I didn't mean to make fun of your post.

I respect you, mate, and I wouldn't want you to take me wrong, ok? I never pretend to offend or something

The only part I think that was funny was the last sentence, but only because of the symbolism behind Of course nothing related to you... but to all of us!

Also, let me say that if I did such that dream interpretation was because I DO feel like that most of the time: my job requies a high responsability level and I'm taking yoga classes lately in order to shave the stress away, and dude, my father is a cop (old school policeman!), so he's always been really strict; I'm fine with that though, that made me be persevering, perfectionist and tenacious... at work but also in life!

... So maybe I was talking of myself instead...

That's all, I only wanted to make it clear.

Cheers man!

PS: That, and also that I'm a psychologist... even though not working as one atm...

I had a super weird dream a couple months ago. I woke up in the ruins and this girl found me and then we were running away from these things and then she died. It bothered me for weeks afterwards.

I had this dream where I was walking around this superstore where this little black boy went to the checkout with two basketball hoops with his older sister or something. The checkout operator told them that it would be $110 in total. The sister told the checkout operator that it was his hopes and dreams to own basketball hoops and to reduce the whole price to $30. I walked away because it was ridiculous.

Going through the store, some chick stopped and asked me what CD would be better - a Kei$ha CD or Triple J's new mixup CD. I told her that I like neither because both aren't my type of music. She then yelled at me for not helping. I then told her that either she could give her friend songs that perhaps you could all sing to, or a CD of variety so she can like new artists. She yelled at me more and asked me why I didn't tell her that in the first place. She then acted all shifty and left the store.

Then I woke up because some Catholic 'enlighters' rang the doorbell and showed me through some "should you fear the end of the world" bullshit magazine.

I don't know what was more ridiculous, the dream or Catholics thinking I would care about an 'End of the World' magazine after just waking up.

dream after going back to sleep
||I was hanging out with a couple of friends at my pops house which wasn't really my pops house but someone else's. We talked about random stuff outside around a small fire. I then realised it was a total fire ban and said we should get rid of the fire before someone notices the smoke and we get fined.

After going back inside the kitchen was full of disguising flying glow-worm bug things. The owner of the house said that it was a curse and that these bugs always appear in the house. She trapped them in a big jar and chucked it outside.

My other friend was bored sitting on a chair so she asked me to go find a book for her to read. I went to the book room and found "Choose your own Adventure" books that I stole from my school library and never returned.
One was about a lion Siberian king that turned people into cat people.||

Yesterday I had a dream, in which I was solving some puzzles as a test subject. Then I woke up in the middle of the night and I realized the puzzle actually makes sense and I can eventually use it. I guess my brain is taking puzzle design to a whole new level.

Back when i first heard about portal, i had a dream where i was a test subject in a weird lab where they always tested surgical procedures and other weird science. i wanted my freedom and fought so much that they said, "fine.... here you go...." and then they let me run free on grassy hills and trees etc. but instead of the sky, it was a giant metal roof with lamps hanging from it. kindof like the roof of costco. cameras where everywhere.

Some day i dreamed, that i made a destroyed room in Hammer, only with a laser, an exit door, and a button+cube. The button deactivates the laser. I dreamed that i was "in" this chamber. The laser was in the middle of the room, the exit door, button+cube was on the one side, and i was in the other side. I dreamed that i cant get to the other side because i would die if i would touch the laser. I dreamed that sequence for maybe 5-10 min. ( i think,) and the environment was like a nightmare.

Dreams
But normally i dream every day about that someone of my family is dieing, or that im running away of bad people, or that someone trys to kill me. every night i have nightmares since months, but thats probably why because im very stressed of my high school graduation, or maybe because i have my problems with girls or friends, im alone.

This sounds like most of my dreams. Absolutely ridiculous, and completely nonsensical. Things change completely in the space of a second and nobody questions it, they just go along as if nothing happened.

My dream
||I have had one dream, though, where I was in an alternate Portal 2 campaign. I was asleep for only a couple of hours, but the dream seemed to last for days. It just kept going. The campaign followed the same story line, but the chambers were different (It's actually how I got the idea for some aesthetics). The Wheatley chambers were quite fun.

It was weird, because I wasn't in the role of Chell; I wasn't actually IN Portal, but Portal was all I could see. Like I was playing it in an Oculus Rift.

I eventually got to the end of the campaign by escaping a Wheatley chamber, and getting onto some catwalks. Most of the BTS area was the Citadel from HL2, though, until I got to the boss fight. In which you had to use speed (interesting note: I wrote 'sleep' here the first time. I think my brain is telling me it's time to go to bed...) gel to escape Wheatley's bombs, because most of the floor was goo. I don't think I ever killed Wheatley, but at some point the boss fight was over and I was in the Citadel type areas again. I'm kinda glad that happened, because the room was fast-compiled and the goo looked ugly. Now that I think about it, it looks like a map I almost uploaded to this site when I first signed up (upload wouldn't work [phew]).Then I walked through a door, and was in a hotel. I walked down to the lobby, then up again a few times. Then all of a sudden there were people, and we were in a bus.
We were a group of...things (not humans, but we had humanoid features), that evidently couldn't be seen by actual humans. This fact was made apparent by one of my co-humanoids calling out to another co-humanoid who was sitting on the front windscreen of a car travelling alongside the bus, asking him what he was doing (as in, "What do you think you're doing!?"), to which he replied "Relax, they can't see us".

I woke up when I realized we were cockroaches.||

Yeah, I have some weird dreams. They're a lot of fun, though. I get to see all these new places, and experience the strangest things. Once, I had a dream there was a 5-meter high staircase in my grandparent's house that led into clouds, which could be walked on. I think it was a stairway to heaven. In fact I have a lot of recurring dreams about big houses, and hotels, now that I think about it...

Have you been reading anything by Kafka recently?

Yeah, tile nerco'd it so I decided to chip in my 2 cents. And no, can't say I have, actually.

I had a dream that I looked on the roof of my house and there were dead kittens spread out all over it. I also had a dream that someone I know coughed up blood.

On less of a darker note, I do have dreams about talking cats too. And more recently I had one about being Chell trapped in a room of endless excursion funnels and I couldn't escape, I just kept moving through the excursion funnels...

My boyfriend asks me if I ever dream about him. I say no.

My dreams are always full of randoms or people that say they are someone I know but look nothing alike.
