Look, I know that Valve might not be able to count to three, but that doesn't stop me from thinking there's going to be a Portal 3. Hopefully, all the unused stuff from Portal 2 and all existing stuff from Portal 2 is used in Portal 3. You might be thinking, , but post what you think will happen in Portal 3, if there ever is a Portal 3.

How would he return if he was trapped in space?

In Blue Sky, a meteorite sends him out of orbit with the moon and he crashes back into earth. Then he gets put into some experimental device that gives him a human form. I skimmed the first few chapters. Here's chapter 1

Other ones I've seen include GLaDOS pulling him back to torture with an excursion-funnel-like thing and colliding with a satellite and falling back (with the temperature of re-entry not exceeding 4000 "degrees" Kelvin).

That "4000 degrees Kelvin" thing is a Portal reference, FYI.

I know, I'm referencing it again. As Aperture technology, Wheatley can survive anything up to that. I'm still surprised that nobody at VALVe pointed out that Kelvin is a unit, it doesn't have degrees.

Whilst scientifically incorrect it is used often. Also 4000 degrees kelvin is implying very hot, even for people who have no clue what kelvins are. If you just would have said up to 4000 Kelvin, that would've made less sense for a lot of people.

EDIT: we're getting a bit off topic!

I think portal 3 won't come soon since the PTI allows us to make every single puzzle valve can come up with. For portal 3 they will need more test elements. That's gonna be hard to come up with

They'd need tofind something entirely unprecedented, like adding the gels to P2. Nobody would have expected that after playing P1.

So valve needs to wait for other people to make a great game so they can steal the innovative concept for their game. Then we'll have portal 2 episode 1

Gels were presented in a "Tag: power of paint" game for the first time as far as I know, and they collaborated with Valve to make these testing elements into Portal 2.

Yes, but nobody expected them to add gels after playing P1.

I think nobody expected them to add any other new testing elements, like funnels, lasers, faith plates, etc. after playing P1. Pretty much everything was new in Portal 2.

True. Very true.

Although the Blue Portals people did manage to make lasers, but they acted more like real-life lasers would.

If I remember correctly from a conversation I had with one of the Valve devs...lasers, tractor beams, and light bridges were items that the original Portal 1 team had experimented with but they didn't have enough time get them to a releasable state. Since Portal 1 was more of a demo, they were keeping it fairly simple as well.

Wasn't that from the final hours of portal 2?
I also remember this.

Not sure where they'd take the story next, unless they start with a new protagonist but I'd play it.

That is possible... or we were in a group conversation

Gravity altering, more outdoorsiness, different cubes, colour coded lasers, altering the portal gun etc.

Gravity altering is hard unless you use the PUNT cube. More cubes and outdoorsiness, maybe.
