I have a portal 2 pack and i would like to use VPK to pack it from folder to vpk but however it gets locked up at "Finding files and creating temporary control file"
can someone please help me?

I just checked out and mine works as usual.

Where do you have your game installed? maybe there is a problem with some subfolder's name or lack of writing permissions in it...

i am trying to repack a Whole VPK file. that i lost and Verify integrity of game cache won't fix it. can someone pack it for me? if you can i will pm you the folder.

By "whole" you mean the original from the game entirely? I tried that quite some time ago to no avail... it seems that it's too big for the vpk.exe version we all have, VALVe might have used a different way...

Quit steam, grab all your custom content and save it somewhere safe, then delete all your game directory, restart steam, and reinstall the game
