Call For Volunteers

Hi... I've started up a gaming blog: GamingNerd.com. I want the site to get really big, Kotaku big or even better, but to do that the blog needs a lot of content more of the time. I don't know how many of you out there would be interested, but I want to find some writers for new content. I don't really have the money to pay for writers, and I can only write a couple posts per day. If anyone is interested in helping out, I know someday we could get very big. When it does, that means free passes to conventions like e3, free games and game systems, previews to unreleased games, and even a job possibly if the site starts to make money. On top of that, you'll get a cool email like: [email protected].

Another thing is that consistent writing for the blog would look great on college applications and resumes. There are no minimum requirements, you just have to be able to type English at a 6th grade level and you're good. You can write about anything you want, really: reviews, news, previews, youtube videos, etc.

So yeah, if you are interested, just contact me at buddydupre at gmail dot com!

Thanks guys

I hate to rain on your parade, but there is no incentive for people to do this. You are not offering anything and your site has no rep. And I wouldn't be holding my breathe on any of that free shit you promised. Bigger then kotaku? Jezus that is the most pretentious thing I have heard for a while. You do realize that kotaku is the TMZ of gaming?

I am legitimately not sure if you are trolling or a fan boy with to much spare time and money. Sorry Chad, my condolences for your naivety.

That doesn't mean they can't try to have a large site...

I just googled gamingnerd.com and it came up with pages of recruitment threads in almost every forum dedicated to gaming possible... who knows, it could become pretty large... but... I will not join (I couldn't write an article for bananas anyway. Please note that bananas are about $2 each here, so that's pretty much a fail).

Like everyone else said already, you have to offer some real incentive.

I'd say money works as the best incentive. $10 per article would get people writing.

Also the fact that you have just spam every forum with this leads me even further to believe that this is just a troll or some kind of autobot, and that this replies will go unread by you. Most likely because you can't deal with negative critismism.

I'll see what exactly this is after some research. BTW where does he say that he posted in every forum? Your argument lack evidence, unless I've missed something.

It's not an argument and I don't need evidence all I am saying is that probably no one will do this because there is no incentive and it looks like spam. Also it was chicken who said that it's on other forums.

well, it's cool that your so ambitious, i'll probably join the forums, and it is a catchy name, so, good luck!

you have a nice... uh ... toolbar thing, and blue is totally your color, but it needs a backround, staff, people who care, etc.

the logo with the robot head is terrible, try something else, and theres other suggestion i dont have time to write.

So I guess you're still throwing around personal insults without any solid evidence?

I have a clever and appropriate retort, but I won't go there.

I take back my previous statement that you should be a detective.

Hey. Don't ever let somebody tell you... You can't do something. Not even me. All right?
You got a dream... You gotta protect it. People who can't do somethin' themselves, they wanna tell you you can't do it. If you want somethin', go get it. Period.
Hehehe

Irrelevant, I never argued the point that whoever it was manually typed the response instead of spamming it all over the Internet. However, you're insinuating that author did so because of an inability to deal with negative criticism, something which, unless you've seen a negative comment on the post and seen the author reply to said negative criticism with something like "OMG YU so mean" (not necessarily that stupid, making a point here), you can't reliably back up.

Actually it is self evidant as he/she has not responded since the thread was made.

Why would gamingnerd respond to this thread? What relevant info has been posted for him/her to respond to? Since gamingnerd has a new website to attend to, I think he/she has more important things to do than listening to people going back and forth about this.

So its perfectly acceptable to create an account, blatantly spam advertisments for a website and just abandon the account? I am beginning to severaly dislike you Lagger.
