Explanations for how all the elements are made in hammer, any applicable valve-based instances, and eventually more complex tutorials like "how to make a good puzzle," "how to publish your map" (hold off on this one till the site's finished maybe), etc.

So, what exactly should go on the Wiki?

I have well over a thousand edits on various wikis, so I'm prepared to work. What do we need?

We can start from the basics, up to how to make a BTS area look good...

For the menu on the left, we could have link like; Home, Level design, Modding, publishing, About , or something simlilar to this: https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/SDK_Docs but only Portal/Portal 2

I vote, on the forums, the "home wiki news forum" be moved to the left.

perhaps as a form of control panel. I'd hesitate to compare, but I believe 4chan use this method, albeit not so effectively.

wikis use it though, a lot more effectively.

The 4Chan board selection is on the top.

Other Chans, yes, I have seen them be on the left, like a toolbar. However, 4Chan isn't one of them. :cake1s:

I think the header's fine the way it is.

On the main site, at least, there will be the recent map list and a login box on the left, assuming we stick with nurdock's layout.

yeah, but if you had it to the side, there'd be no need to go up. would be better once the forum expands. when it does.

There is a little grey arrow pointing up on the right of your post, under your avatar. Click it! :biggrin2:

or, you could be wanting to shift-click it, to open it in a new tab?

in this world of tabs, who doesn't change the tabs?

Open the other fucking tabs in other fucking tabs, by middle-mouse clicking them on the top menu after click the little arrow that takes you back to the top, then scroll back down and do what you wanna do!

I lost you after ducking. I'm not sure which ducking I list you after. there were both so quick.

I'm not sure what ducks have to do with all of this.

If it is a real concern for you, having to scroll up a page, I could make the header follow you down.

Federal regulations require me to warn you that you should calm down. Please calm down. And I, personally would prefer it if the Home|Wiki|News|Forum tab thing to be on the side or on top and follows the screen. Ninja'd

As long as everyone calms down, I have no problem with people discussing.

Still not sure how ducks factor in.

I'm aware the header would probably be kinda big on smaller screens, if it followed the view down. I'm just not sure how to make a sidebar that looks good. Someone want to make a mock-up?
