Wisconsin eh? Judging by that price I would say somewhere north of Milwaukee. I live in Milwaukee here, $3.89. I was just in Chicago for Lollapalooza and it was at $4.29

Yep, I live in Appleton (north shore of Lake Winnebago, and about 25 miles south-west of Green Bay, for those who are Wisconsin geography illiterate)

Indeed.

?2.00? According to a quick conversion, thats only $3.11
I thought gasoline was supposed to be like $8 over in Europe?

Global warming? HA HA HA HA HA!! Everyone that isn't brainless (or a Democrat XD) knows that "global warming" is a load of crag! Oh I hope I don't get flamed for saying that...

As for gas prices, it's down to $4.01 for regular unleaded where my family gets gas. Even then, it's 30-something dollars to fill a ten-gallon tank, and over $40 to fill my dad's truck.

How do you mean, thread killed? First place, it is funny. In some tragical way it is. Second place, this is, after all, the Off Topic-board, though I know that's a lame excuse to go off topic. But we're not really off topic here, we remained quite neatly within the context of this topic. I know this is a portal mapping forum, but jeepers, do we really have to talk about Portal all the time?

If so, then why does this forum have an Off Topic-board in the first place?

I hate paying today's gas prices as much as anyone but we really don't have it too bad here in the states. My brother-in-law's family lives in Scotland and they pay the equivalent of $14 US a gallon. The government there apparently taxes the crap out of gas to discourage people from driving too much because they don't have the infrastructure to support the type of driving we do here. Of course the numbers are a little skewed because the value of US dollar has dropped so much. Still, I remember moaning when gas broke the $1 a gallon mark, then $2 a gallon, etc. What will we do when it hits $5? (and you know eventually it will).

As you can see by looking at this spreadsheet I just whipped up, there are four possible outcomes regarding the reality of global warming and our action or inaction to it.
3 out of 4 outcomes are positive. If we take action against global warming the outcome is positive regardless of if global warming is real or not.
But if we don't take action, we have a 50% chance of complete fail.
Why risk it?
Believing in global warming and taking action equals win.

PS: Being a democrat has nothing to do with it. What you meant to say was liberal. They tend to care about the environment unlike conservatives

Oh neat. I grew up in Oshkosh and am currently living in Milwaukee for school. Many good memories of driving to Appleton because it has the nearest Best Buy up there lol

Ok, woot for Oshkosh just 'cause I like the name (never been there) and double woot for Best Buy mention 'cause I work for Geek Squad.

Democrat, liberal, whats the difference? They are one in the same. And as far as global warming goes, do I believe in global warming? Absolutly. Its been going on for millions of years. Periods of warming and cooling. Its just the way the world has worked since it started. Do I believe in man made global warming. Well, the problem I have with man made global warming is that no one can show any proof that it exists. Every argument brought up by the man made global warming crowd has been shot down as false, or unreliable information. Take the winter last year or two years ago. It was colder on average across the country than it had normally been since 1933 (or somehwere in there). Where was the global warming crowd then? I would like to see hard proof before I go back to living in the stone age.

I think this could reasonably be construed as thread necromancy, and given that the thread is very potentially a flashpoint for a political debate that's probably not wise or useful, I'd be just as happy to see this thread go the way of the Dodo bird.

I'm not locking it, but think long and hard before responding just to have an internet argument.

I'm with Hober. Lets talk about something else. The last thing we need is to discuss politics in a portal forum. I get enough politics from TV.

i sometimes think it would be awesome to live in a time where things were simpler. (ie: early 1800s, stone-age, etc). And then i think about dysentery, the flu, giving birth, and no TF2, and i say crap on that.

It's sad it'll become the truth pretty soon. Somewhere something must have gone terribly wrong. Probably humans.

It's been up and down...about $4.00 at one time...
