Until Msleeper shuts the website down?

I have a feeling that this site is just about to die, anyone have a guess when?

this website MUST stay on!
it's the most active website on portal there is (except the steam forum)
unfortunately, I think this site is run on donations, and as I have no paypal/credit card/money, I can't help

Portal will never die, this site however is another story. If it holds out until Portal 2 is released later this year (ie next year) then everyone will come back and it'll go on for another 3 years.

Perhaps if we start showing and discussing mapping for other games and like Team Fortress 2 or Left 4 Dead. But that will defeat the purpose of a Portal Mapping Community. . .

I guess, all we can do is keep mapping.

Well, if Msleeper is smart, he will just keep this website up until portal 2 and it will get active all over again. Speaking of Portal 2, when that happens, we will all have to say whether our maps are for portal or portal 2. That would get annoying.

Yeah, there is still community releases, so I think this site will die when no-one has said anything for a month. Good thing nearly everyone here keeps talking...

Same here!

I'm still working like crazy (ok, more like mildly-disconnected with the world) on my next map pack and I would love to post it here.

Also, if anyone has a map nearly done, hype it! (Like mazk1985 does with PMK5.) It gives a better impression of how much is going on and it's an opportunity for some early feedback. I'm not too far away from posting a couple of screen shots myself. (As soon as I have the other three (of five) chambers somewhat done.)

Overture beta 2 should be done in a month or less if I keep working at my current pace... (Geekofalltrades' Portal Map now has an actual name )

I'm currently working on an Episodic map pack type thing (a bit like PESP, except each level has several maps in it)

I guess I't's our turn to say what we're doing

Portal:Access All Areas have a coder.
said coder is working EXTREMELY hard to create a multiplayer portal.
our entire team is looking forward to this, and if we can get a damn modeller (the recruit thread on moddb is dead), we'll make gameplay VERY interesting

so far, we are adapting code, or some sort of technical stuff idk.
though it's 50/50. we may be able to do it, or we may not be able too

all I know is if it works, we will have definately put those people who said that the MP idea is dead to shame

but, yeah. we're doing that.

also, I think the mod'll be available here joint first with myaperturelabs too, due to moddb needing to authorise everything which'll increase activity a little

some of our dev team are now arguing that this mod has vastly exceeded it's "access all areas" name, and are suggesting we change it XD

maybe, if it's ok with you guys, we could try to get this site alive by adding the title in the top left in that small disclaimer thing at the start of the mod? we plan to do that with myaperturelabs, but we'll be happy to do it with you guys too

I don't mind updates, but only if they are true and not some ridiculous thing that tries to make your project sound better than it will be. By now, Portal All Access is going to be the length of HL1 and HL2 combined along with MP and all of these amazing features!

oh, I'm sorry. I thought this was a thread on how we could increase the popularity of this website.

I'm sure that the fact that the mod'll upload here first would make absolutely no difference to visits whatsoever.
they'll all just wait patiently twiddling their fingers not attempting to download it at all until the next day

EVERYONE knows the average map/mod downloader will try to get the mod as soon as possible if they can.
and if they can't get it from one site, they get it from another.
of course, that'll make no difference to this site.

also, on a side note, I'm not lying. we do have a MP function we are trying to put both SP and MP menu's together while keeping it to only portal. our coder says it can be released with our mod if we give them time to put it together.

and yes, the mod'll be big. it'll probably be one of the biggest (once it's done). but it isn't aimed majoritorally at the puzzle-lover. we want to fix that by adding the 3 test chamber runs. easy medium and hard. which will probably take the most time to make out of the entire thing.

it's aimed at those who want to explore. hence the access all areas part of the name.

and to be honest, yes. it will be the length of HL1+HL2
however, we plan to release 4 SEPERATE mods. so that they don't need to get everything, and it's 4 times smaller.

anyway, this isn't the thread to post everything about my mod. it's about the forum dying, and I don't want to derail the thread.
