Nice map and nice idea. Unfortunately there is a pretty obvious exploit that can be used to complete the map in a few seconds. In the room where you have to move the cube through the funnels you can simply make a portal from the surface the cube lands on to the last portal surface and then quickly add the funnel to the last surface. That way you can circumvent the whole puzzle.

that's how i completed it. is it intended or exploited :> ?

Nicely done. There are a few solutions to using the funnel. Your way can actually cause the cube dropper to break if the funnel is going into it when it drops a cube. I'm going to revise the map so that wont happen/your solution wont work. Thanks for posting.

Huh? how is this considered exploit ? cube through portal + funnel.. The End ? i mean it just takes some testing to find out where u need to place portals and funnel flow etc etc. After playing portal2 the 1st time around im sure alot of ppl can do it blindfolded in half the time in the 2nd play through.
It was a good map, I liked having to put cube on button serving double purpose.
The elevator rooms were a little bright and dark, it wasnt very attractive.
I also broke the map some how. i had the funnel shooting below the cube before it spawned and it stayed up in the dropper and another one tried to fall out and they were both stuck up there with no way to destroy them(broke it). maybe adding a button to drop a new cube on the same platform.
P.S i found a way to fall into the water and it didnt kill me. Also realized while i was typing this up, u replied to the video and talked about the breaking of the cube dropper LOL

By looking at the portal surfaces and the energy barriers it is pretty obvious that the map was not designed to be solved that way. Under normal circumstances you are supposed to get the cube through the room by switching the funnels from portal surface to portal surface while the cube is in the funnel. So I'd say it's an exploit if you solve the map like Maxi or me did since you circumvent 90% of the intended solution.
Alternative solutions are a good thing, but not if they are so obvious and let you finish the map in 20 seconds.
Map is clean and tight, suggested to all. Also I solved it in 2 mins so it made me feel smart. Vote: 18/00.
Thanks all for the feedback. I updated to V1.1 and fixed the couple bugs, (no water damage, breaking the cube dropper).
As for the lighting in the elevators, those are SDK provided prefabs. They are the same as in the game.
Personally I don't like the maps where u have to wait for the cube to get from one end of the room to another. I prefer when puzzles offer several possible solution but its still fine.
Hope u include more mechanics in future maps. Cheers
In case anyone got stuck (which i doubt) i recorded proper solution.

I think you should definitely add some lighting in to the elevator instances. You can add things into your map and they will still affect the instances. Or at minimum, put an animation on the walls so the contrast isn't so stark.
The water in the excursion funnel area is really bright for some reason. Does that surface have a dedicated cubemap? You can manually assign a cubemap to a surface, and in fact that is the best option for water. If not then you might want to look into using a different hazard water material.
I played the most recent version and I was still able to get hopelessly stuck in the funnel part. I managed to make the cube fall under the fizzler and get caught in the excursion funnel down there, and since there is a grate on the end, the cube could never leave and I had to reload the map. It might be worth either detecting if the cube is down there, or adding a button to manually spawn a new cube, or just something along those lines.
Lastly, I would raise the laser catcher just a bit. I had to lay the laser cube on the lip of the button for it to hit. I'm not sure if this was because of my portal placement or not though.
Overall pretty fun, definitely playable. Visuals are pretty lacking but it's not a game ruiner.
A sweet little puzzle. I wish there was more!
I solved it the slow way, dunno if doing it quicker is still possible or not, but i don't mind alternate solutions to sub-puzzles especially if it's a longer map. I hope you will expand on this!
This was my first map and I don't think I'll be adding on to it. I'm now working on an underground map.
I started playing custom maps and record me playing them. It's neither a perfect run nor do I have to have solved the map in the way it's meant to solve it. I play the maps "blind", that means I've never been in them before and play them for the very first time. I also give a little feedback for the map in the video description.
Maybe you are interested in the fact, that I played your map: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1xAWPkbSyqY
Short and sweet, clean and simple. You can easily chop two portal placements out of your solution by catching the cube in the second angled funnel from the first angled funnel.
I play with a controller, so the quick aiming was a bit difficult, but since no death was involved, I didn't mind. Just more practice for these slow fingers of mine!
The portal material the laser hit looked funny (two different colors) but worked fine.
The only thing this map lacks is length, but for what is there, I give it 4/5.
