Description
This is my entry for the Portal 2 Summer Mapping Initiative Contest! This Chamber is relatively simple but utilises a variety of Portal 2's puzzle mechanics and hopefully makes for a difficult but enjoyable map. Before we start, however, keep in mind that although fun and learning are the primary goals of this enrichment center activity, this is my very first map! Enjoy!

What about including also the .bsp?
Got some compile error:
ConVarRef gpu_level doesn't point to an existing ConVar
Could not open instance file instances/turbine_elevator/arrival_elevator_a4_base.vmf
Hey guys,
Sorry for the issues, I'm a complete n00b at uploading map files. :/ I keep trying to upload the new folder with the .bsp, .vmf, .vpk files and the instances that I've used within it, but it doesn't seem to overwrite the old one. What is it I'm doing wrong?
Thanks

Change the name of the file when you reupload it, like "Silence_B.zip".
Ah. Well now I feel stupid. :L Thanks man!
Are the files that are now contained in the folder the correct ones? Just wanna make sure people can actually download it now.
Cheers
A bit on the easy side but that doesnt mean it isnt good, but I dont get the water?<br />well its a great map for beginners

Thanks for the feedback!
The water is there in the event that one of the boxes gets soaked in Repulsion Gel.
You can also select "Overwrite old file" when uploading a new file, and that will mean you don't need to rename it.
I started playing custom maps and record me playing them. It's neither a perfect run nor do I have to have solved the map in the way it's meant to solve it. I play the maps "blind", that means I've never been in them before and play them for the very first time. I also give a little feedback for the map in the video description.
Maybe you are interested in the fact, that I played your map: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X3JTT8EGMqY
This map could have worked with just a bsp alone
As for the map itself
first, it was too dark...I can't be the only one who is bothered by all this black and then only a few small lights
the blue gel was a nice idea, but you should have somehow notice us in the map that the blue gel doesn't stick to the black walls, i thought it was a bug at first
the rest was okay i guess
lastly, this could have fit into a smaller map, something so big is just confusing
I may have simply done it wrong, but...
Is there a way to complete it without using the hovering redirection cube bug?
If that's the intended way to do it, you might want to rethink it a bit. The rules explicitly say they won't consider maps that rely on glitches.
Interesting map though, I liked the bit with the gel.
Too elementar and darkish, but there's a puzzle in there... you might want to try reducing the room size, and doublecheck those textures, because in a less boxy enviroment that puzzle be even better.
And if you are supposed to cover the lightbridge with blue gel, you might want to make that floor a grate to explain why itself can't be covered in gel.
Thanks for all the comments guys!
@Forehad58: I have never even heard of the hovering redirection cube bug, so yes, it can be completed without that.
@Kibate and xdiesp: Thanks for the feedback, I'll take it all on board and will make those alterations in the next version of the map. The reason it's so dark is because I couldn't figure out how to create a single lighting entity that covers the entire room with settings that match the default brightness level/setting after adding in the entry and exit lifts, which is what I wanted, but I'll try and figure it out when I next edit the map.
Once again, thanks for the comments!
