Description
A map that makes good use of the Excursion Funnel in Portal 2, not to mention a little surprise that you have to figure out on your own.

Polished yet sizeable enough, puzzles not cold thanks to intelligent guides and one novelty. Pity for the last funnels being so second thought.
Bug: if you run at the raising platform while it gets up, you can get stuck.
I'm playing custom maps and record my first time of playing them. So the run is not perfect and may not use only intended ways, but maybe it can let you see how other people may understand the map or you could just enjoy someone playing this map for entertainment.
Anyways, here is the recording:

BlumCoLe, what the fuck are you doing at 0:15???
Also, I went through the turret fire the same way as Djinndrache, but I am still wondering whether that is the intended way...

I want to know as well, as he did it on an earlier version of one of my maps.

If you use exploits like skipping buttons in Portal2, then you can also noclip through the map. Honestly, that is not "playing a map" anymore, not even when considering it as speedrun. It's exploited or even hacked, plus the video is cut which means it's not a real speedrun anymore. Cuts within a speedrun invite viewers to think that you cut there, edit the map to have that button always active and then play that modified version from that point on.
Cheating ruins games, not even speedruns should do that.
@Lostprophetpunk: This is why I said, that you should use cube buttons!
@arvisrend/Lostprophetpunk:
muhahha
That's my big secret!!!
...well, joke! ^^
It's the "save button glitch" ...not very difficult, but unfair and helpful for regular buttons without to use cubes!
However:> Enigmaphase wrote:
Speedrunning is all about speed
@Djinndrache:
Just because I had your gameplay criticize, you talk my speedrun down.
-__- ...that's unfair and dumb!
Regular, I have the same opinion like you, but read this please: post46419.html#p46419
After Enigmaphases explanation anyone have to know what is a walkthrough and what is a speedrun.
Unfortunately I haven't yet answered him...
Remind you on the speedrun in Portal by Transgenic86 ...there was bug & glitch using and cuts (because of some glitches, for example save glitch).
And now? ... The whole world found it awesome and it was THE world record!
speedrun = speedrun (with glitches) | walkthrough = walkthrough (without glitches; normal way)
That's not the same!
And I record both solutions sometimes, because I can I enjoy it!

Wrong. Exploits are glitches that can be found and used within the map without cheating. The fact that BlumCole does this in his videos, is a great help due to the fact it points out bugs in peoples maps that they haven't seen before. This will help them fix the bugs to help the map remain almost glitch free.
Also, the only way you can use 'noclip' is if you have 'sv_cheats' set to '1', which in fact that is cheating. Finding and using a glitch doesn't enable you to use noclip.
Lostprophetpunk: Is there a way for a map author to make sure players don't use this engine glitch to cheat (other than by avoiding buttons completely)? Because otherwise, there is no point in "reporting" this kind of bug.

Use the proper cube floor buttons. That is how I did it.

This is not possible in that case, because with a cube button you cannot leave the first room!

I think there is no way to prevent this, unless the button is ONLY for a cube.
What are you worried about? It is more importantly to solve the puzzle without glitches ...it's boring to solve it when I win only with bugs. And speedruns are just for entertainment!
First I play your map in the intended way and later just for the speedrun with the button save glitch.
Don't forget: Portal is a puzzle game, which should make the player confused and happy ...it should claim!
Everybody who can solve it only with glitches and bugs is a noob and have forgotten the sense of Portal!

How do you assume that these things got anything to do together? It's just not normal to have cuts within a speedrun, it's something like cheating. I made some speedruns of other games too and I know how hard it sometimes is and that you sometimes may use glitches. But hell, don't cut the video, that ruins everything.

OMG, save the game und load savegame ...record stops at loading! -.-
Sorry, that does not make sense ...you're incorrigible, infant.
I didn't see the purpose of the platform or the button to lower it. I only used the funnel to get to the turret room and to take me to the elevator. However, the map was neatly constructed, so despite the somewhat broken puzzle, I give it 3/5.
A map that makes good use of the Excursion Funnel in Portal 2, not to mention a little surprise that you have to figure out on your own.
