Description

My first mapping attempt, and yes I am aware of a few issues, like unwanted shadows (any help is welcome). This map is my attempt at playing around with different concepts, like a moving laser.

Got to the first button and thats about it lol.No idea what button does thou. The portable panel at the back has a problem where the entire portal is not open making it very difficult to go through

Yes, I suspect I need to put in more of a hint for that button. The button stops the column from spinning for a short time, but only if the column is within a few feet from its original position (which coincidentally is where the laser is pointing at the far white wall).

And what good does that button do? also its no effect if laser hits the receiver?!
Anyways, from the first button forwards I just jumped around the wall to the next ledge and continued from there. I'm guessing that wasn't intended?

The button stops the center from turning. If you press it at the right moment and have the portals in the right place for laser to hit the reciever a barrier drops allowing you quick access to stairs that will come up

Thanks for all the input. I've added some visual cues to help with the confusion concerning the button. Of course these visual cues have created more unwanted shadows (black wall tiles).

I can't move fast enough to get a shot on the far portal surface and make it back to the opening. All this crouching is very annoying.

I like the idea, it's just an impossible pain in the ass for me to move fast enough.

It is possible to make it there and back in time if you can time it to get onto the walkway the split-second after the laser passes.

I agree the crouching is a pain, but as I was building this map I discovered a little bug with moving lasers: If you jump when a moving laser is passing you, the laser will not hit you. My first iteration of the map did not require you to duck, but I found out that even if I stacked 5 lasers high, I could still jump through them without taking a scratch. My only solution was to make it impossible to jump, thus the ducking.

Having never actually finishing this map I went back and finished it today. The portals surfaces still need work and I hated the crouching. It is fun when not crouching 3/5 . I'm sure there is a better way than crouching.Maybe death spikes under the catwalk or something so you couldnt jump
