Description

A small, difficult map with bland visuals. Thanks to HeadShot and grayarea for playtesting and pointing out unintended solutions. It should provide a good challenge though!

ah from your reply it seems you stumbled upon the workshop link

Nice solution, feels like an alternate rather than a map-breaking one. But it's completely unintended, check the comment on the workshop page.

Argh... can't even get a cube out of the back...too frustrated....

Don't be let down, quatrus. It's almost impossible to solve in one sitting

I guess this way is unintended too and final part is similiar to jose's one but a bit simplier.

@greykarel: The solution to the first part (getting the 2 cubes to the main room) is almost intended (aside from the cube tossing part).

The solution to the second part is pretty much unintended. Btw cube-tossing is involved at some point, but it's not a ninja, precision-based toss.

OK you drew me into this... I managed to get both cubes out and into the exit chamber area -frustrated again....will take a while to figure out how to get them both up...
----Too much time and I just can't see a solution...I am defeated.... Nice map...

Well, here's the solution for those who tried out the map:

@quatrus: Thanks for trying it out! Sometimes a good night's sleep is all that's needed

I completed the map with what seemed to be sane, intended solutions. Shooting the portal while yoyo-ing at the end was very hard and took me 50 tries.

Your "intended" solution is wild - seemed more like one of those from the Guys that manage to always do things the opposite way. Dropping Cube #2 down so that it hits the edge of the light bridge and moves toward you just enough to make it to the protable floor square . . tried that many times but never made it. So did it the simpler way. Also - holding and carrying the cubes along the fizzler while you were on the other side and popping them through and up onto the Light bridge is something no one in a million years would ever think of. But - that move is not required.

Nevertheless - GREAT MAP - GREEEAAAT ! !

@PCdoc: Toppling the cube over the bridge is actually pretty easy. I'm sure it's possible to topple it and get it to land on the portalable surface about 7 out of 10 times, provided you correctly place the bridge at the right altitude, which also makes sense physically.
The move that requires grabbing the cube through the fizzler and putting it into the portal was actually figured out by HeadShot, so it's not impossible to think of.

Thanks for playing and I appreciate your feedback; nice to hear you figured out an easier way! I'm going to release 2 more maps and the second of them will be harder than this one.

Thanks for the solution - elegant. I figured that I needed to go back out and retrieve a cube again....just got too tired....no stamina... Thanks for challenging....

My solution is below. I only recorded the Final area where the 2 cubes must be transported from the 2 round buttons at the bottom . . . to the 2 square buttons at the Top.
I cut out about 45 attempted portal gunshots during the yo-yo (to shoot a Portal into the floor panel for access to the Top Room) since they are so repetitive.

This map was so fascinating and challenging - I really love it.
But man !! Those Portal shots into the floor require deadly aim and hair-trigger reflexes.
I have not watched the other Videos yet except for yours.
So please pardon me if this is a repeat of the others.

Yeah that's probably the only other way to complete the final part except the intended one! You, Jose and greykarel came up with it independently

I should add - that the method of getting the Companion cube through the 2 fizzlers was a very innovative idea. Stumped me for a while. And your other map, Isolation, I am completely stuck on. Will post a response if I ever figure out how to get that damn cube at the entrance !! The Laser being 2 feet in the air is driving me nuts. Not fair - LOL

Thanks, and I'm glad to know you're trying out Isolation too.. I should warn you, however, the method to get the entrance cube may border on being unfairly difficult (not in terms of execution though)

Wow great map! I solved it a bit diffrent. Good job for the intended solution. Great back and forth with multiple use of elements! I like it.
