Finally, someone else who uses the yellow fizzler. But isn't that what standard chambers are? Like with the slightly broken walls?
He's not the only one using a yellow fizzler in a map... hint hint
The large test sign in the hallway is suppose to be embedded into the wall, a lot of people do that wrong

actually, Tmast...

(Portal testchamber 0, attached on the wall)

(Portal 2 testchamber 6, inset into the wall)
It's purely a stylistic choice, same with the size of button bases and whether or not you use signage frames on indicator lights.

We'll ill be, I guess they aren't always embedded into the walls
.
Still, I think it looks better that way, but to each their own, no?

What!? My whole life has been a lie!
In all my maps I've had it out, because I saw that the border was textured. I guess I'll recess it from now on.

Mm, the inquisition field is great to use. It opens up a big range of possibilities for puzzles.
And yeah, I guess so. I didn't feel like going through a huge detailing process, so I played through co-op for inspiration and realized that this theme looked nice and was easy to make.
One thing though; should I put mist over the goo, or keep it as is?

I think you should use mist, it makes it more realistic. Anyways that looks really good, you've definitely nailed the theme.
In other news, here are some pictures from a BTS-style exploration map I started a few days ago:

imo that corner is the best thing in portal 2

Why would you ever think that? Because I'm definitely not using the same soundscape too.
'Bridge Building' [coop] created by DrFauli with Valve Hammer Editor:
- 3 large rooms; difficulty increases with each room
- design based on chapter 3 of the coop-campaign
- 152 hours spent on creating this map
- map was playtestet and optimized many hours

Please let me know what you think about this map and share the link
with your friends. Comments are much appreciated!
@CamBen: Yes, I know- that area was very fun to create, and that last post was sarcasm by the way.

@PortalCombat: 152 hours! Well, next time my cooperative partner and I get together, we'll be playing this map.
Well, I am always looking forward to get more feedback.
And I have spent so much time working on this map and optimizing it, that
I really want to know how the Portal 2 players like it.
I really tried to get that feeling of the chapter 3 co-op campaign with the design
and overall atmosphere in this map. But I also focused on the puzzles and the gameplay.
So it should be a fun map to play - no fast timing/reflexes or ninja skills needed at all.
You know that also high res models exists from the exterior arms? ^^
If thats an explore map, the models shouldnt be low res ^^
