A friend wanted to post this on here, but couldn't because the website wouldn't let him create an account. He mentioned that the "texture in the corner, by the poster, couldn't be fixed because of the position of the room."

Yah this happens also with the standard Water/goo textures too, did anyone know why?? and awesome pics men, can you give me some advice on how to create outdoors spaces in P2?

pick a good skybox from gamebanana, change to unlitgeneric, with vtfedit check clamp S and T. Just make big outdoor areas, maybe use diaplacement, grass (make a new .vmt for the official grass and blend grassdirt textures and add "%noportal" 1 since they are portalable, even if they are used on displacements. I may make a first youtube tutorial about how to make a cool displacement area in 3-4 minute...
Add an envvironmental light and a matching shadwcontroller, the sun's color is yellowish, u can steal the settings from my cubetraining map's source. Basically this is it

Thanks

Are thise the testmaps? (I didn't have a time to play P2 to play your maps).
Also, I think playing the map should be your first priority, because, if you look at details, it sort of ruins the fun of playing it. Some of Valve's maps are lazily detailed, and you wouldn't notice it if you're concentrating on gameplay.

Haven't posted it yet! All in good time though...all in good time.

@yishbarr, that is true. I marvelled at the details for a bit, but settled down for some gameplay soon after.

Then I noclipped around

Those look positively gorgeous! Maybe I'm just a sucker for Coop/Art Therapy theme, but that ceiling and the projected texture is just too beautiful to ignore! I can't wait to play it!

Making art therapy maps is hard. I made clay figures instead, and some paintings.

If everything goes according to plan, it should be up in about a week. I actually think it looks better in-game than in pictures, so hopefully you'll be in for a treat!

I wouldn't say it's Art Therapy theme, by the way. It's got a bottomless pit so it's more like the co-op hub than anything else.

The art therapy BTS like the one with the white gel is covered entirely with plastic and other details including a pit with displacements.

When I think art therapy, I think strange outer geometry, yellow outer plastic walls, large gray tracks, unneeded things outside the test, and gratings and truss around the initial stairs down to the test.

The reason I like art therapy is because, they are spacious and it looks good. Reminds me of an airport with a night sky which is strange. Actually, some portal 2 designs remind me of airports. Probably the strangest thing some of you might have heard.

I think someone should make a map that mixes all of the styles. That would be cool.

Why? It looks good.

I don't know. That would be strange if you included underground. But besides that, I like the idea.

What he said was 'under no circumstances', so I think he's agreeing with you.

I like airports because they remind me of Portal 2, so you're not alone on the airport thing. Large, open spaces in general (but not outdoors), to be honest. Dunno why.

Neither of you are ever alone in the airport belief.

Also, the ceilings of ikea and walmart remind me of the art therapy style truss and beam ceilings.

So I'm not the only one who thinks of portal 2 when I see trusses and vents!
