Maybe "energy dispersal fields" would be a more apt name, as Pilchard pointed out to get energy into a vapor form (as is implied by "vaporize") you'd have to convert it to matter.

"Vaporizer" was the first name but Camera (a while back) told me the same as you two did...Destabilizing!

"Aperture Science Energy Destabilizing Field" if I recall correctly...

Dispersal is pretty cool though, might rename it after all.
