Epic Introduction Thread
I've been lurking for a while reading through things and I thought it was time I say hello.
This is an excellent community, though a little intimidating as I have only just started learing how to Map and its a very steep learning curve.
I look forward to hearing what you think of my first map - I'm almost finished it now

Hello to all! I am Shroudeye. I am GLaD to be here!So why I'm here?
I'm here because;
1-I'm a P0rtal fan. You know the feeling, yep?2-I've heard that this place is the main hub for P0rtal level building. I'm into level building, a little new to Hammer, but I got some level building experience.
And most importantly,
3-I also have heard that there is a competition going on?
BRING IT ON!!By the way, my Steam ID is Hathseput. If you want to run a Co-op, or simply talk about Cake (with Lemonade), you are all welcome.
Test, till you get it BEST!

Your level building experience wouldn't happen to include a relatively recent singleplayer map for a 1999 game -- the map being called 'Red Valley'?
(And the levelset it's for being called Army of Haloon).
I see this name and I think... wonder if this is the same person? I think you are.
Welcome!
Just an average player, a big Portal fan, which is, well, not a big surprise.
So I've been playing some of your maps, praising them silently, just enjoying my time alone, and then I thought:
"Actually, why do I not sign up on TWP Community if I love science so much?"
Here's this, there's that, now I am signed up, as you can see.
I am currently trying to get on good terms with Hammer, with not so much success, but still, some.
That's about it.
Edit: Oh, that's right, my Steam username is the same as my nickname here, if anyone is willing to have a nice chat or play co-op, or anything else : )
Well, whatever I hope I can fit in here and I am planning to release a few maps soon, so... HI!
I though it'd be polite to post in this here introduction thread after jumping right into discussion. xD
Hopefully my first map will be done by the end of the week, so I can show my worth then.. if any.

If there's one thing I am good at, though, it's drawing (depending on your definition of "good"). Here's a self-portrait of me holding my weapon of choice for the zombie apocalypse:

And here's a prophecy of something I swear is going to happen to me one day:

Here's my three-year-old son playing Portal 2:

I really enjoy using the Portal 2 Authoring tools to try and make maps but am having the trouble of not being able to see my error messages because I don't know how.
Any help would be appreciated.
But again, welcome!

Since he made a second thread for the problem, that his other thread superfluous. Merged in to the intro thread.

Hello everybody, I'm Ben... and joined because I wanted to post some stuff on the forums about my upcoming Portal 2 mod BackStock.... soooo yah... ### hi
Been playing quite a few single player, as well as a few co-op maps from this website and I'm loving them. I'd have to say the best I've played was a co-op map called 'Fast Bridge', and as for single player, I do have to agree with the contest - 'Patent Pending' was simply amazing!
I espically like that custom maps are generally far more difficult than the offical maps, which is great as I like a good challenge.
I don't plan on making any maps, as I would fail horribly, but a huge thank you to everyone that makes them, keep them coming!
Shawy.
Well, given that I'm a moderator I suppose I should formally introduce myself. My pseudonym's WinstonSmith (taken from one of my three favorite books of all time, George Orwell's classic 1984), and I'm been working with Source development since shortly after I purchased Portal in early 2008. I also do a bit of mapping for HL2 (mainly Ep2). Outside of the Source engine, I'm a general computer enthusiast; I'm learning C++, working on putting up my own website (moving it to a new host, the link in my signature should change soon), and working on improving my Linux and penetration testing skills. Outside of the soft glow of my laptop screen, I enjoy reading and playing classical piano.
Please feel free to contact me for more or less any reason; I can be reached through Steam (I'm not online too often, though) or a private message through TWP or any of the other various sites of which I am a member.
hehehehehehehe...
