TeamYogert Hiring Paid Positions
Dear thinking with portals community,
me and a small team of around 10 people all around the world are making an epic Mod, we are using the source engine.if you are a talented programmer looking for that big thing to get you noticed, this is it.
but if getting noticed is not enough for you, you'll also get a big share of what the game makes
programmers will get (estimate)15-30% overall profit
animators will get (estimated) 15-25% overall profit
here is what were looking for:
modeler,animator (both)
artist (concept and textures)
Character Development Artist
programmer
mappers
if the job you want is not there you may still be hired if we think your good enough
To Apply
just tell us what position you are interested in, a brief description of what to want to gain from working with us and a picture or Video of any previous work and send it to:
If you Have Any Questions Or Queries You Can Contact Me At
Prof__Yogert
CEO
Also if it isn't a huge secret: what is the mod going to be? If you want people to join your team, at least tell them what they might be doing
.
Would be nice to know anything at all before jumping on the boat...

@CaretCaret: the post was more for getting people to email me so we can talk more then hiring them at that point. eg email me to ask about the positions
@wstrika: if you look at the post i never promised to "pay people" i promised that if the mod makes any money then you will get a cut of whatever it was, we know what we want everyone to do its just i am not discussing that on a post

Lawl
well; a few general things would be useful:
1) how big do you want the team to be
2) how big will your levels be
3) how may levels will there be
4) what's the timeframe of your release
5) what information do you need from us before we could join your team?

No thank you. Maybe if I was 10 years old.

What did Kizzycocoa do?
He tried to make a mod for Portal 1 that allowed cooperative play, about two years before Portal 2 was released. It failed miserably, but he did the same thing as far as attempting to over-hype it while barely providing anything insofar as a screenshot.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Don't think the big ol' grown-ups would agree, but lol
the point of this is so that people who can do the job (mapper, programmer etc) and when those people contact me they can ask more questions and get an the answers they need
jontron is a respected internet reviewer and egorapter is a very talented animator, voice actor,
thankyou
well; a few general things would be useful:
1) how big do you want the team to be: the team is about 15 right now and im planning to stop at 30
2) how big will your levels be: play banjo kazooie
3) how may levels will there be: there will be one hub world and 6 worlds in the hub
4) what's the timeframe of your release: one year
5) what information do you need from us before we could join your team? all we need from you is a resume from you with name, timezone, skype or steam name and some of your work
Most of the people here are capable of doing great things on their own. You have to convince us that working for you is better for us. And you're not really doing that...
And no, we wont even bother contacting you about it cause why wouldn't you just answer the questions here?
as for the people being capable, theirs no question that most of the people on thinking with portals are talented, but there is a question on if they are willing.
as for not answering your questions, i am fairly sure that i have been answering all your questions,
animators will get (estimated) 15-25% overall profit
1) how big do you want the team to be: the team is about 15 right now and im planning to stop at 30
in case people will get 15% that'll mean that you'll pay 30*15 = 450%
Sounds like a bad deal for you
please be serious about your reply's
If you really want your team 15-30 people that'll mean that the maximum profit per person is 100/30 - 100/15 = 3-7% ... promising 15-30% is a rather scam then, even if it's an estimate basic math would be useful
All in all the only thing I hear is "I want to make a mod in the source engine and I need help, if we get greenlit (did you think about the $100 you now need to actually submit your game to greenlight?) you can get a bit of a share.
That wouldn't really be a problem but you don't show anything of the quality you have in house now; what you've done; if you can actually get the thing to work; what source game you will take as base. It would also be useful to know if you ever led a mod team before; how that turned out. show some of your previous work, doesn't matter if it was for source or not. That is information what we need in order to see if we want to join.

I seriously cannot comprehend the stupidity of this statement. JonTron is a hilarious fat asshole who plays video games and yells about them. Egoraptor is a spawn of the early days of Newgrounds, and is also fucking hilarious. Neither of them are remotely relevant to game development.
Your overall lack of knowledge, unwillingness to elaborate regarding the project, and general lack of professional demeanor in your proposition (seriously, how am I supposed to fucking entertain an offer that doesn't discern your from you're) leads me to believe that you are an extremely over-ambitious teenager (or younger) who is nowhere near qualified to manage a project, or responsible enough to actually pay people for their efforts. I sure as hell don't trust you.
