I checked and bureaucrats (wiki equiv of mods) do have editing rights. I put all the users I recognized on the user list into that usergroup (Van included, as he actually wasn't, so if you still don't have editing rights just tell me. Feel free to edit and make pages, god knows the wiki could use some more legitimate activity.

It's just with me or there's no icon for Minecraft maps? If not, I suggest this one:

Today's changelog:
- Minecraft maps have an icon
- Quietly implemented visible comments on map pages, a feature which has been on my todo list for a long time. I think it makes the place look a bit more populated, wouldn't you say?

Feedback is always welcome and appreciated, as usual.

Editing a map's data fails, when you submit it says that there's a duplicate value (69 in my case) in Key 1.

While we can't edit the Wiki, here's my tutorial of how to create a storage cube in Portal:

===In Portal 1===
To create a cube in-game, open your console (mostly with the [~] or ['] keys) and type: "ent_create_portal_weight_box" and press [ENTER]. The Storage Cube will spawn in the place that you've pointed. To change it to a companion cube, point to the cube you've created, open your console and type "ent_fire !picker skin 1" and press [ENTER].

In Hammer, create an entity and set it to "prop_physics". Then, click in "World model" and search for "metal_box". To make a companion cube, set "Skin" to "1".

That's the only tutorial that was missing in the articles, for Portal 1

Also, look at the ChaconMoorer771, ShaylynnVanhouten662 and SwiftMilam292 pages, they are spams

Oh yeah, I noticed that but forgot to fix it. As it happens, it actually does work, but displays the error message anyway (as far as I could tell that is)

I'll look into it later today.

EDIT: And Hugo, I added a bunch of people to the editor list, I think including you. Try editing an article again. I may also give all bureaucrats (editors) the ability to delete pages as well to mitigate the spam problem.

Ironically, the only page I can't edit is the "Weighted Storage Cubes". Also, I can't delete the spam posts, only move them. Besides that, yes, I can edit the wiki

Looks like that page was protected. Guess I changed that before figuring out I could just remove the "edit" permission from "registered users." Either way, should be open now. I'll try to figure out how to let you delete later today.

So, a few days ago I've move the 3 spam to Spam 001, Spam 002 and Spam 003, and edited the description to [u:8c40i5ef]Deleted page[/u:8c40i5ef]. I can't delete, but you guys can, so search for "Spam" pages (also, there are redirection links. I don't know if you can delete redirection links)

I was kind of surprised this didn't exist already:

I think there should be a tooltip when you roll over badges so you can see what they're for (i.e., founder, judge, donor, etc).

Fun fact: I tried doing that and...the forums didn't agree. I could try again or something.

I have a suggestion.

basic spambot prevention

picture this, our forum becoming a spammy cesspool
oh, wait. right now it is :T

spam in damn near every forum. it's insane!

and all admins are american! multiple admins are hired to make at least 1 admin online at any time. right now, you're only in business in america times. we need to have more admins in different timezines. at least, 1 european and 1 australian, or somewhere in those two timezones.

'cause right now, me and grox are lamenting the fact you guys won't be online until (according to grox) 2:30PM. (I assume american time?) meanwhile we're bystanders to spamfest 2012. and this isn't the first time we've had spam like this - though granted, it is the most severe.

I suggested that ages ago. Also thanks for the update p0p.

I use to be up during the hours of 4 PM - 8 AM EST every day. But hopefully I will be working soon so I had to change my schedule. Some people have to grow up and live for a change. But yeah, we need like that key code thing that is annoying and color blind people can't read.

Also, what do you have against Americans besides we are lazy, complain a lot, and ban and censor everything that made this falling apart nation?

Installed the KeyCaptcha system which uses picture assembly for Captchaing, hopefully should mitigate the problem. It has "KEYCAPTCHA FREE VERSION" plastered all over the background, but it's not too distracting and if it's as good as it says it is then it should be worth it.

EDIT: Oh, and I looked again, and it seems the spammer filter only checks once spammers are reported. So make sure you report posts AND users, so that the system performs the check.

Alt text is there, and has been for months. Doesn't show up for unknown reasons. Looking into it.
Edit: I am a fool. The hover-text is set with "title", not alt. Updating now.

Awesome, I do recommend making the badges more descriptive then just "Founder", "Judge", "Winner". I do suggest the following.

Founder: "Been here before the beginning of space and time!"
Judge: "A medal giving to judges of the first mAI mapping contest!"
Winners: "A special medal giving to the (1st/2nd/3rd) place winner of the first mAI mapping contest!"
People who entered the contest: "A medal giving to those who participated in the first mAI mapping contest!"

Just my two cents on that. We should also have more badges on Community spotlight, a certain number of content uploaded, (Like uploaded 10, 20, 50, etc to the database) and other things like that.

I think as far as badges go, just a simple tooltip 'Founder' works fine; I can, however, understand the need to extract more details for those who weren't around or just simply don't get it. My solution would be more work: a 'trophy case' of sorts on the user profile that shows all those things off.

Can we get the resizable image bbcode activated?

http://www.bbcode.org/reference.php

It'd be very good if we can get this!
