Description
New update in steam workshop ( link below) http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f ... earchtext= In this map you have to collect cubes from different chambers to solve. For long playing, this time you can try to take the companion cube to the elevator or try to solve with less than five cubes. It?s possible, isn?t it. Note: -Room three was changed -Unlogic gaming was fixed -Now Glados speaks -Better savepoints created -forgotten fizzler function fixed Ps: Please post your experience about this map. I play the map this evening ...then there gameplays und speedruns again!!!
This map is the same as the one from Nov20 according to time stamp on the file and its same size
swear... i have update this map. i have compile and test it . but i ll download and check a second time, i'm sorry but in two days. perhaps you make something wrong??
You need to change the zip file name or will stay the same.I just checked again and the bsp is 11/20/2011 8:04pm

thx for the GOOD news but the first voting was 3/5 and this is a little dissapointing because the person don't say the reason. and the version before was voted 4/5. so i'm just happy after the third vote up to 4/5

I didn't play an earlier version of this map, because they looked totally ugly and stuff. Now it's still not beautiful but it's much better and I finally gave it a full blindrun. I'll probably not post it before 9th January though because I was stupid enough to take more than 50 minutes to solve this map and therefore the video size will be large.
I'm very sure I ninja'ed alot of things here in unintended ways. Some things even in more than one way because I didn't see the easy things and ran through all the map over and over again and found more and more ways to solve/ninja some things.
So stay tuned for a big blindrun/ninja video of your map in January

djinn needed 50 min. i watched a walkthrough of the old version with 1h17min^^ tottally unintendet. i know, you can do lots of things different in this map, but i specially want to remove unlogic things. to djinn: don`t make party so long. i want to see your vid. happy new year for all.
A very difficult map, with chamber 3dots as useless - WHY go to the trouble to make a red herring chamber where the cube can't be retrieved? Turrets were mostly downed with a laser for fun, just couldn't make the run to the bottom without restarts. Solved the laser puzzle (growing to hate them...) with 4 cubes retrieved - one tossed from the ceiling. Looking forward to seeing the Djinndrache solution.

Sorry, I don?t undestand english very well. That is the reason i want to see a walkthrough. I even make a "intended walkthrough" if somebody want to see my intention.
the walkthrough you posted is NOT the same as the one downloaded - in this version - NO orange gel platform, no spike plates, no glass wall in turret corridor, fizzler walls in exit chamber?? (the .bsp file on this download site is 11/20/2011 8:04PM 5,233,516)
I had 4 laser cubes to the exit chamber (1 from 2 dots, 1 from 1 dot and 1 from chamber 4 dots, 1 from exit chamber).
The cube from chamber 4 dots was tossed to the side from the angled ceiling surface - not through the fizzler. In another try, I also lasered the turrets from the upper area and placed the 4 dots laser cube on the end wall.
Nice mapping....
i had trouble with this upload at first. but i update it at all and blumcole and adyb said: now it?s right the version you see in the video. maybe you had to download it new. i have check it one more time... and the post time is 29.12.2011
I played and rated this map before, when you didn't even need to go into room 3. The addition of the alternating fizzlers definitely took the shortcuts out that I had used. The only problem I had was forgetting which cube was first, and having to go back and repeat part of the puzzle.
This time, I had to use your interesting variation on cube bowling. You can still throw the cubes around the high fizzler, but frankly, that's much more difficult than the intended solution. You can still get to the room 3 button stalk just by portals, but the crusher floor is a definite improvement over the acid pit. Likewise, the addition of the crusher plate where you smack into the wall is a much clearer indication of the potential death there. You also successfully retooled the laser puzzle so that 5 cubes are needed.
Your efforts at fixing this map are definitely to be commended. 5/5 from me.
Sorry I don't have a recording of a blind run either, but I loved the map!
On my first playthrough I never used the blue gel in the 3rd room, but I did the rest pretty much as intended.
On another note, I love doing least portal runs of custom maps and this has been one of my favorite.
Obviously this isn't the intended solution, but I'm pretty proud of it as it was really hard to come up with and pull off:

the way you play is cool but it is difficult. i really want to know how you get this speed to jump. i'm impressed
by the first aktion killing the turrets. this unintended playing shows different ways to get the cubes but the intended way is much easier if somebody don't has your skills. thank you for playing. like glados, every mapper loves watching.

Yeah. Doing things with very few portals typically makes things really difficult. The speed jumping technique is called bunny hopping. There's a good tutorial here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JX3_KxTXkr4
It takes a while to get used to and even then many of those jumps I make in the vid are really difficult.

I'd say go for it! I love watching speedruns. Seems like this one could be tricky due to it's length.

Hm ... you know there's already a map called "Cube Collector"?

Maybe you could change the name of your map, so they can be differented?
I'll shortly play your map and see how it works.
I had fun with this map. I did encounter some frustration, but that was mainly because I overlooked some obvious details that you provided.
For example, I recovered all of the cubes from rooms 3 and 4 without benefit of the light bridge, because I overlooked the detail on how to turn it on. I managed to get them all through judicious placement of all 3 types of gel. I ended up getting the cube from room 2 last. That one was a real head-scratcher mainly because I had already worked through so much of the map without the light bridges.
It was also interesting to see the methods used by other players, Djinndrache's blind run in particular. It was cool to watch him "ninja" the cubes from the end of the ramp instead of dropping repulsion gel on the end of the ramp so they just bounce into the room after they slide down the ramp.
5/5 from me!
