There is an alternate version of the problem with 16 dots (laser switches) and 6 lines (5 cubes).
But that would require an even larger room.

Nise map.Good idea to present logical tasks by means of Portal.
In regard to number of portals it all depend on map design.
Another solution for the laser puzzle.

This seemed too easy - unless I just got lucky. It took me just one attempt, which is rare with Laser puzzles.

Without the new DLC you have to download the "Portal 2 Authoring Tools - Beta" from the Tools tab in Steam. However I don't think this is the right thread to ask that question.
