Description

An old Aperture-themed map of medium difficulty. I estimate it will take 10-20 minutes to play. My first release(after a lot of horrible attempts at mapping), any kind of feedback(on the puzzle, difficulty, looks etc) is very much appreciated because I want to have a perfectly finished map when it goes out of WIP and plan on making new maps in the future. pics:

Nice map, worth a play. The old Aperture visuals and lighting are great. I would have preferred a more difficult puzzle, but a lot of players like the average ones. I was able to complete it only using one cube, but I don't know if that is a big deal. It only skips a small step and the second one would have made things easier.
Anyway, very good for a first release!

How? This is definitely something I would like to fix in an update.

Thanks for the feedback!

I assume I'm supposed to be able to take the box from the first room to the second room?
I was pretty sure that was intentional, then instead of getting the second box: When I got to the top of the second area I just jumped down onto the blue gel and grabbed the cube. The grate ceiling made me lose a little height, but I still had enough to make my way to the raised platform (now flat from removing the cube) and bounced up from there.
Either one of those is unintended, I'm betting it's the second one. The second cube makes things easier I just wanted to see if I could break it .

Not bad, I like how the map looks like someone did put some love into it. The puzzle was okay. It didn't feel very special, but it wasn't too easy either. It could be more challenging though, it was pretty much straight forward and always clear what to do.

Djinndrache, nice to see someone other than myself play the map. I will look into making the puzzle a bit less obvious without becoming ridiculous(actually before releasing the WIP I added some visual clues such as the debris in the yellow room to make sure it wouldn't be too hard :p ), and making a quality puzzle is my #1 priority for the next map because I got comfortable with Hammer/the Old Aperture style now.

In the next update this won't be possible, thanks for the explanation.

Very nice map, love the old style. Puzzle was not overly obvious. The puzzle can be solved without jumping up out of the rooms to the roof, although that is easier, portals are placed the same places. I rather enjoy having more than one way to solve a puzzle - so well done. Wish it was longer....Thanks for creating.
Ready for release???

The 2nd room had me completely stuck - good job.
I never thought about going up to the roof of the Yellow room.

I finished it with no cubes and in 47 seconds ^.^
I'll probably upload a video soon.

That's definitely an exploit, I would like to see the video or an explanation in another way.

I will likely fix the issues this weekend, add some bells and whistles, and release the map in the normal SP section

Definitely enjoyed your map. Great use of the blue goo. I actually had to look at a walk-through to figure out parts of it. Beautiful job. . . Thanks for your contribution.
