My first map, but I put lots of work into it. This is my first map I've ever made in Hammer, but I worked on it and tested it for a long, long time, so it should be good. I made the puzzles as fresh and creative as I could, so trust me, this map isn't a generic one. Remember, the game's not over until you reach an elevator. Changelist: Beta 1.01 - fixed an easily missable nodraw hole in the map, thank you nckomodo. Beta 1.1 - Changed the dialogue, made some of the solutions more evident, etc. Beta 2 - Changed too much stuff to put here.

Example file showing how indicator strips work. The example file that co-en sides with the article based on indicator on how to design working indicator strips for your map. Edit: Changed light strip overlays from having multiple overlays over a distance, to stretching the overlay across the distance, and editing U/V value accordingly.

Proof of concept map this is the start of my companion cube level, its still a proof of concept, need still getting it to work what got me started on this was wanting to work more with triggers, relays all that crap. So I thought up something that would envolve tons and tons of them, in a very limited space... theres many many triggers and relays to be made... this is the first puzzle or 'game' of the map, you are given both a Companion cube and a companion sphere, right now the cube is hidden because it doesn't work yet. in the left corner, with the brightest light, are 2 raised brushes forming a small box, drop the sphere into it to start the game (im going to make it a button, or something later on, it just shows where the trigger is.) things to note: -the computer doesn't know how to play yet, you get to play yourself -there is no victory condition this map at this stage is mostly show and tell :P

Upkeep's a little lax around here... not alot of "get that thing over there" puzzles, but more kind of survive type puzzles i changed the map around a little due to complaints Extract to your steamid/portal/portal I included the texture pack you need to install to play this in the rar file.

A different approach to time-sensitive puzzles The beginning of my new map. I threw this much together in the past few days. I'm looking for feedback on the difficulty, mostly. And if anybody has any ideas for more puzzles, or if anybody finds glitches / easy solutions. Extract the .rar to your /portal directory. You will still need to use the console to load the map. When you get to the cake on the wall, thats as far as I got around to making so far ;)
