Portal 2
Paintbox 01
My entry for the TWP Summer Mapping Initiative. Since I haven't done any mapping in a few years, for my first Portal 2 map I wanted to do something short to help shake the cobwebs off, and that highlighted my favorite underused game element, conversion gel. So here's a black metal box with a white gel pipe. There's an excursion funnel, too; I'm sure you'll figure it all out. Also I added a small BTS area for anyone who feels like exploring. Have fun getting to it. This is my third posted map for the Portal series.

the whatpossible test (portal 1 flashback)
this is my first non-testing map in hammer, and i would like to know what you can see, like the box dropper, or the piston pits.
"Minecraft" in "Portal 2" - Part 5 (alpha)
Here it is, the early alpha of "Minecraft in Portal 2 - Part 5". This is not a finished and polished map yet, so, please, do not bother to point to that. For more info, and if you want help to improve it, please, read the topic.
Laser Fling
Not much really to say about it, it's a short map, with a bit of difficulty.
You may notice a dropper that stays open, it's supposed to do that.
Plus, I may just recreate this map when the in-game portal 2 level maker comes out. This level, just to let you know, is actually a test for upcoming levels, so I didn't play much attention to detail such as texture alignment. EDIT: I recreated the level in the In-Game Level Maker, check it out: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f ... d=68480834 -------------------------------------------------------------- Any issues, glitches, or something that just doesn't look right? Let me know in the forum post or PM me!
constellation:Cancer
Surrounded by the constellations as your arrive at Far-Range Exploratory Envoy and Distant Object Moorage (F.R.E.E.D.O.M.), the stars will be your guide through humankind's most ambitious voyage into space EDIT: It seems like there is an identified bug whereby a vital cube is missing from the final chamber. There should be a cube already in place in the central funnel-changing machine. Until I can make a fix available, you may have to noclip to hit the buttons yourself as a workaround.
CG's Companion Cube Rescue Mission
Deep within an old, overgrown Aperture test chamber are six companion cubes, each trapped behind its own puzzle. Your mission is to rescue these cubes and take them to the SCANNER in the hub and place them in the big round vent. You can scan any item you are able to pick up, but only the companion cubes will advance you. Try scanning each. Non linear rooms, can be solved in any order. NO AUTOSAVES YET!! REMEMBER TO QUICKSAVE BEFORE EACH AREA!! Once you have rescued 5 of the 6 cubes the exit door will open. I currently do not require all 6, I figured if one of them gives you too much trouble you can skip it. Area 6 is sort of optional, I was thinking of adding some more layers to the puzzle with that laser relay (currently unused) to make area 6 super hard, but make it an acheivement to get all 6. However I could just leave it at the sort of medium-low difficulty it is right now, and have it there in case players can't solve any of areas 1 through 5. Feedback appreciated! There is a secret hidden ratman's den in ONE of the test chambers (where there are chairs to scan) See if you can find it! Area 6 is not quite finished, I am going to make it more complicatesd, and yes in this version it is possible to cheat and get the cube by stacking other cubes. NOTE: it IS possible to get stuck inside some of the chambers after you get the companion cube. I cant really find a way around this, all I can say is when you take the companion cube out of its puzzle test chamber, DONT throw it out. Replays greatly appreciated!

Basic mod for playing .vpk files
You can play games distributed as .vpk files by installing them in the addons folder of a mod. This is a bare bones mod you can install if you don't know how to make your own. You can't use the in-game menu to start a remote coop game. Apparently, the Steam servers have a problem connecting mods. You can do it from the console, using the following commands: On the host machine: map <mp_coop_mapname> On the client machine: connect <host-ip-address> Version 1.1 Update README, cleaned up unnecessary files
Before the new
