I've been busy working writing a game lately (collision detection algorithms are the worst thing ever.) I still check up every day but at least until Portal 2 comes out...I don't see anything big happening here.

What game are you working on? Is it Portal related or something else?

Nah, it's an FPS that I'm writing from the ground up. It's a lot of work and I'm not sure how much I'll have done for my final presentation this semester.

Well, I wish you luck.

Thanks...I'll need it. This is a lot of work for a single person. I really should have just stuck with a 2D sidescroller.

I don't think it's dying as such although time may tell but it definately has low activity. Maybe thats why I've had little motivation to finish my map even though theres very little left to do on it

I promise I'll release soon and hopefully the site will gain a tad more activity for a week or so

"sigh"

As Remmiz and Hober said, the game has been out for well over a year. For a game even as innovative as Portal, we are pretty lucky to have the content we do.

I would like to try and revive the community a bit, now that I myself have some more free time, but I can't help but feel like it will fall on some deaf ears. I would want the runtime to be short, 30 days or so, just to keep it fresh in everyone's mind.

I do apologize for not posting every day like I used to, but for a few reasons I just haven't been able to.

Also, people might just be getting better at mapping over time so they work longer on a single map. There are many high quality maps out here and it just takes a lot of time to make these.

I agree. I'd much rather play a map that someone took some time to make (like yours) than to play a prefab piece of crap that was kicked out in 2 days.

It doesnt matter if you are making a mod or a map. There are only a few people who still play Portal.

But if you make a really good map or mod, you have to make it easy like Portal or a bit harder, but nothing more. . Or else you will get Comments that its really hard even though people that play portal once a day or so can do it in 2-3 mins.

So in my believe, super hard and confusing maps/mods is not the right way to go cause most people who are gonna play it is basically people that did not play Portal in a really long time. (That statement really goes with portal mods cause people that don't play portal anymore really don't download Portal maps anymore.)

Ah venator92. Your maps are looking good since I last saw them. Can't wait for them to be finished. Any ideas when we'll expect them?

I have no idea when it will be released but development is actually slowing down as I'm currently studying for my HSC.
