[sp] arc_worldportal_intro
Hey ThinkingWithPortals. My new years resolution is to release my portal maps that I've been making the past little while. For some reason I cannot figure out how you guys are making single test maps. So I've had to include my arc_transition_list.nut to make everything work. So put arc_transition_list.nut in your Program Files/Steam/steamapps/common/portal 2/portal2/scripts/vscripts/transitions/ folder -or- if you don't feel like putting vscripts in there, noclip forward after spawning, you should find the elevator pretty quickly. after doing/not doing all that don't forget to put arc_worldportal_intro.bsp into Program Files/Steam/steamapps/common/portal 2/portal2/maps Then load up portal2 open up the console, and type map arc_worldportal_intro and you should be good to go. Now this is my first release. However, I don't scare easily. Please be brutal with the comments. Happy testing! -dan
Convergent Breakout
The last puzzle can be solved in multiple ways. I didn't spend a lot of time on it because it's not in the original course of tests i'm making. This map is actually made of 2 testchambers, the latter unfinished, in one series featuring conversion gel. Since the map is now somewhat mangled, other gels have been implemented more, as the last test chamber was (sort of) hastily made. ------------------------------------ Version 1.1: - Fixed the bug that hid the walkways from some players - Was very helpful for other maps I'm working on as well ------------------------------------ Credits: FourthReaper - for design and creation Valve - for making the Half-Life/Portal universe a better place Special Thanks to: ZeepaAan - for helping me find the solution (and the problem) to the walkway-bug
Get the Gel
This is my first released map as well as my entry for the contest. I hope you like it. It is a single puzzle consisted of 3 smaller sub-puzzles, and features: - Light Bridges - Turrets - Funnels - Bounce Gel - Other hazards and puzzle elements Let me know what you think, and please report any bugs or problems. Note: I might have overused "hint" signs on the floors, let me know if I made it a bit too easy. Note 2: As required, the source VMF file is included. Notice that it requires (and includes) two custom instances. Updated to version 1.7: -Added grates to the washing stations -Added music -Added exit sign and made room numbering more obvious -Fixed a shortcut Updated to version 1.6: -It's now impossible to pass Room 2 by standing on the cube. -The exit was lowered so it's easier to reach. Updated to version 1.5: -Invisible fizzler removed from the entrance to Room 1. Grate added instead. -Two "cube washing" stations added. -Visible timer added to Room 2 -Fizzler in Room 1 made taller. -The jumps in Room 3 made easier. -Button added to the cube dropper in Room 3 -Many aesthetic changes -Other minor changes
Aperture Aquatic Testing Center
A nice and somewhat long map with 3 puzzle rooms in it. Water doesn't kill you in this map, unless you stay under for too long. Each room is a little bigger and more difficult than the last room. Auto-saves trigger are included. Let me know if something weird happens. There are 3 Easter Eggs in this map. Edit: I'm amazed at how so many people downloaded and rated this map. I will start making more underwater levels with a little more complex puzzles, but easy enough for anyone to solve. Thank you everyone for your feedback and ideas.
Time Machine Instances
here are time Machines, two themes modern and antique.
Boss Battle
This is the very beginning of what I hope will be a great boss battle. 1.0 Currently, there is no way to win. As of this version, I'm only testing some of the ways I plan to kill the player.
[SP] 1943
An old Aperture-themed map of medium difficulty. I estimate it will take 10-20 minutes to play. My first release(after a lot of horrible attempts at mapping), any kind of feedback(on the puzzle, difficulty, looks etc) is very much appreciated because I want to have a perfectly finished map when it goes out of WIP and plan on making new maps in the future. pics:
Chapter 2: The Catacombs
Welcome Back Test Subjects, This is the second chapter to the series "The Untold Truth". This chapter introduces the characters that will be seen throughout the series. As mentioned before in Chapter 1: The Escape, I do not tend to give hints and by hints I mean the blue/orange indicators. This map is not for people who want a challenge. As much as I wanted to make a challenging map, I wanted to introduce the environment along with a story plot to the people who are interested in seeing how my story turns out. So once again, this map is not challenging what so ever, if you thought Chapter 1: The Escape was easy, this is easier, but as stated, this is only the beginning. I promise to make challenging maps to go along with the story and Chapter 3 should be the map to uphold that promise. Thanks and I hope you enjoy, BlackBird Studios [News Update:] If anybody is intrested in a [CO-OP] project, I know that this amazing story I have in mind, will win any Portal Contest. I lack the skills for Hammer, but story is another thing. If you are interested in this story and would like to help, PM me. This story is lacking the skills, and I hate to waste this story with my knowledge of Hammer, so I'm thinking about halting these chapters, unless people say otherwise. If people want to see this story continue, I promise to put more effort into these maps, and maybe at the end, I can polish it up alot as one full download. Let me know what you guys think. [This part of the section is dedicated to the people who are nice enough to help me, as a Portal 2 Community Member, in my "Toughess Times".] I would like to thank MasterLagger for supplying me with his crusher he made. I would also like to thank "andyb" for supplying a very easy tutorial on Indicator lights, looks time consuming but I'll manage.

Cube DESTRUCTION!!!
Congrats! You just found the first map I've made that actually has aligned textures! This map is by no means meant for serious testing. Basically when I'm bored I go into this map and have fun with the faith plate by placing a portal under the cube dispenser and one over the faith plate and watching cubes fling themselves into a fizzler! Yay! By the way the button is so you can reset the door to the closed postition for whatever reason. Extremely entertaining for my ADHD mind. Enjoy! P.S. There's an easter egg simply awaiting your discovery. See if you can find it in all of its eastery wonderfullness-ness! PPS. All of a sudden my cubemaps are NOT WORKING. If someone has some insight as to why this is the case, please let me know.
