ApertureLabs_JV - Version 1 Hey portal players! This is now the last map of the JointVenture series for Portal "1". I have tried to make the tasks not too difficult, they are a bit tricky nontheless. The map was tested quite a lot and I hope that it is clean from errors. If you still find some errors, tell me and I will try to eliminate them as fast as possible. Map Loader / Starter (Beta)
Here my little Tool to Copy the Maps simply into your Folder and start them. It will work only if you have installed Portal in the typical Steam folder on C:\Program Files .... Portal 2 Extras Menu Patcher
Drag & drop custom maps to add them to the Portal 2 Extras menu (for easy loading without console)! It is very easy to use: It will automatically get your portal2.exe path & map name in the folder where the patcher is. Just set the title and subtitle. You can also set a picture for your map (not necessary). The program can save default settings to an ini file to make patching even easier. It also supports drag & dropping .bsp, .vtf, .txt and .exp files. .txt and .exp have to be in the example format. You can easily create such files with the program and release them with your maps. It can also copy map files to the portal2\maps folder. Try drag & dropping your map file onto the program to easily patch extras.txt and copy the map file to Portal 2! The program will also notice if the map already exists in the extras.txt and will ask the user if he wants to update the information. You can now also patch version 7.5 .vtf files to version 7.4! The program is made using Visual C# 2010 Express so it'll need the .NET Runtime to be installed. Thanks for reading & testing the program! Please report if you encounter any problems with it!
[SP] Synchronicity
A medium length and difficulty map using much of Portal 2's new features. Place the BSP in C:\Program Files\steam\steamapps\common\portal2\portal 2\maps. (x64 users will need to use the x86 folder) This is the map the one-room Iterator beta was from. If you played the beta you will recognize the first room (which has various bug fixes) and the rest of the map is new.
Portal 2 Custom Maps to Extras App
This will assess your \maps folder for maps that are not on the official list, then give you a one button click to add them all to the extras.txt file. If already there, it won't add them again, so to add more maps as the weeks roll on, just copy the new BSP's to your maps folder, run this app, two clicks and they're added. Written in VB express 2010, so you may need some sort of dependencies for that. I've now added another file to download - setup.rar, which has the app wrapped in an installer which should check for dependencies and download them if not present.
Gel gun test - vmf+bsp
A gel gun that fires repulsion and propulsion gel. Includes vmf and bsp. Put bsp in steamapps\common\portal 2\portal2\maps Feel free to use in your own maps but please give credit. Left click blue gel right click orange gel Wait a second once the map spawns before moving or the gun may end up held wrong.
Potato Packer
Potato Packer is a GUI to BSPzip its like pakrat but this has support for portal 2 maps and pakrat does not. How to use Potato Packer 1. Click on file and select your BSPzip location this is usually located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\alien swarm\bin 2. Click on file and select the map you would like to pack. 3. From the file browsing list ( not in file inside of the actual program itself ) select the files you would like to pack by double clicking it. 4. Click on file and then Create Batch File this will create a batch file inside of the install folder 5. Good Enough For Science (Instance Example + VMF)
This is a test chamber. Four walls, ceiling and a floor. Good enough for science! This map is mostly constructed from instances, including a custom modified "arrival_departure_transition_ents.vmf" used to handle giving the player the upgraded Portalgun and the ending text. Aside from this, all instances used are stock. Source VMF and modified instance VMF included.
