This is my first Portal map (and first map made in Hammer), which includes some platform jumping as well as puzzles that use many other objects from Portal. This updated version includes improved lighting and added sound effects and a time challenge version. Please let me know what you like and dislike about the map, about any glitches that are found and any suggestions or tips you may have. I have a couple of ideas for maps for Portal 2, so I hope to learn a lot from this map.

This is a demonstration and prefab collection of the laser mechanism featured in my "Try Anything Twice" map pack. It is similar to Valve's "thermal discouragement beam" in that it will travel through portals and it also includes the redirection (lens) cubes seen in the Portal 2 trailers. It is primarily aimed at map designers who want to include a similar mechanism in their maps. (Adequate mapping experience and familiarity with complex entity I/O setup is required.) Please read the included readme.txt file for usage instructions. You'll need 7-zip to extract this file.

Map Name - Tube Breakout Difficulty - Intermediate Map Creator - wyvern14 (contact me at [email protected]) This custom Portal map was created with strict parameters: - have a consistent difficulty level - have player guidance (sound, visuals, usage of lighting that gives hints) - have the same sounds and mechanics as Portal - have the Portal "feel" without using anything that would seem gimicky, out of context. All in all, it had to feel like a Portal DLC and like it belonged in the game. - nothing custom-made or imported that wasn't made by Valve This was created as a school homework and isn't perfect, but I feel it now needs public guidance to go to the next level and make it as a solid portfolio piece.

Okay so first off if you downloaded this exact thing off of a place called "Thinkingwithportals.com" by a user under the name of "Wilbo" then he stole this from me! I did not take this from him! I spent quite a bit of time on this so as it says below....DO NOT REUPLOAD WITHOUT PERMISSION! My sounds have distinct difference from any other sounds because of the editing program I use. So don't be a Wilbo and respect the fact I want to keep my work as mine. I will be uploading it to myApertureLabs.com AND Thinkingwithportals.com to avoid any more stealing from happening. Thank you and please enjoy the sound mod. Now to what's inside the sound mod Blue Portal Firing sound Orange Portal Firing sound Portal Opening sounds Going through a Portal sounds Exiting a Portal sounds Original post: http://www.fpsbanana.com/sounds/12530 I will release a final version once valve releases Portal 2 (yes you have to wait a a few months for a perfect sound mod) As I always say: DO NOT REPLOAD WITHOUT PERMISSION! Credit goes to: Valve For the Original sounds and games RubyCarbuncIe For editing the original sounds from the trailer.

This was for the myApertureLabs Contest #3. This is a demo map showing what I can get working and playable from my Portal 2 takes in my Hammer Notepad playlist. these include: -Ariel Faith plates -Laser Cubes -Thermal Discouragement Beam -Diversity Vents -Repulsion Gel Light turrets up in flames with the laser or suck them through a vent! Use the repulsion gel to jump a lot further and experience Portal 2 before Portal 2! (Disclamer: This was a TEST. So don't be shocked if you find a bug or whatever.)

More HL2 combat in portal enviornments - WIP This one is mostly focused on the combat - lots of zombies and combine with stunsticks and manhacks - get creative with the portal gun or use the HL2 weapons. It's still a WIP, I'm aware of the problem with the elevator to the grav gun.

Tunneling Chamber 01 [v02]

An advanced technique map. Tunneling is the act of firing a portal towards a surface while the player is part way through an existing pair of portals (e.g. standing in a pair of wall portals, jumping into a floor portal) and then moving into position (e.g. backing out of the initial pair of portals) before the fired portal hits its target. While this map is not a tutorial on tunneling, it is a safe environment (player cannot die) that requires the player to use two tunneling techniques in order to progress through two simple rooms before being met with a unique tunneling-assisted fling puzzle. [v01]: ? Initial Release [v02]: ? Re-packed the .rar for easier installation. ? Compiled with the parameter '-StaticPropPolys' to improve shadows, esp. around the elevators. ? Added GLaDOS speech: entry, nags, success and detaching cameras. ? Drastically improved the visual design of and lighting in both stairwells. ? Added additional geometric detail to the metal walls throughout the chamber. ? In the second puzzle room, the trigger that lowers the lift was adjusted to prevent players from triggering it by jumping from the room?s floor. ? Minor optimization to geometry throughout the chamber.
