This is a demo for the MapPack I'm making. Don't freak out when you start without a Portal Gun, because you'll get one later. This demo contains the first two maps of the MapPack. There are also some Easter Eggs that aren't too hard to find.

This is an easy/medium map consisting of one chamber plus a little extra for fun. This is my first map since the golden age of Doom, yes I'm that old! If I were to start it again I would certainly do things differently, having learnt a lot along the way.(Xdiesp be gentle). Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy playing it. Thanks to everyone on this site, without whom this would have not been possible. V1.1 - Whoops I forgot to buildcubemaps. These test chambers were designed to understand whether testsubjects became confused if they had to solve the same chamber over and over again. The test results were highly informative; they did not. This is my first map, so feel free to post some constructive comments. ==Changelog== V2: -Removed unintended tricky jumps (9x) -Updated math_counter -> logic_branch -Minor changes

Chapter 1: The Escape

Welcome Test Subjects, This is my first map, all the details about my map are located in the readme file within the zip file. This is Chapter 1: The Escape, where for some reason, you are escaping, I made the map as I was going along, and I thought to make it into a series of events. You are trying to escape an unknown threat you are unaware of. The maps I make arn't meant for the people who need their hand held when doing something, I say this because, basically there are no hints. I don't believe in hints, there are some for simplicity sake, but you are escaping, why would the person you are escaping from, give you hints? If you are confused on what I mean by hints, I mean those blue indicators to tell you what has been activated. It wasn't because I was lazy, It was because I saw it as a challenge where you have to think. Good luck, and please read the readme file, I ask for a favor in there that could really benifit in the next few maps. Thanks [News Update]: I'm very excited to see that my map has gotten over 500 downloads in such little time. So with that being said, I will be continuing my progress in making more chapters to my 'Inside Mini Story'. Keep a look out for my new map coming out either December or January of 2012! I look foward to see what you guys think of my story of deception... [Last News Update]: As I mentioned before, I am very surprised to see so many people giving me a chance to show that I can offer something new to the Portal Community. This will be the last update for this forum, as I am nearing the completion of Chapter 2. I can't promise anything, but I should be done with this map within the weekend... depending on if any bugs occur. I would like to again thank you guys for choosing BlackBird Studios.

Can you make your way back and forth, up and down, between the glass walls, fizzlers, and faith plates without getting caught in a laser or discouragement field? This short but challenging puzzle will require you to think through the right sequence of events, and force you to revisit area multiple times in order to make your escape. Can you get out of the Rat Race? v. 1.01 - Fixing a couple of early exploits v. 1.02 - Fixed a couple of bugs/awkward elements. Made it prettier.

There's a thousand tests performed every day here in our Enrichment Spheres. This is one of them. Features Blue/Orange gels, and your standard flinging/cube/button type mechanics, etc. Enjoy. This was going to be my entry for the most recent contest but I didn't finish in time.
